CHAPTER 2: OLD FEELINGS AND NEW FACES

-UNEDITED-

Character: Thranduil x OC (Talia/Lindethiel)
Warnings: Um....flirting???

"Is she awake?" Thranduil questioned lazily from his throne. "Yes, my king, she healed extremely fast, she should be able to walk now." Lithril answered the King politely. "Bring her to me." He ordered and signalled her to make her leave. She bowed and nodded and left. Lithril returned to the room Talia was staying in and knocked.

"Come in." Talia said. She was staring out the window, admiring the view of the forest. "Is everything alright, miss?" She asked her, "Because the king is demanding you to go to the throne room now." She said. Talia rolled her eyes. "What does the great king of Mirkwood want with me." she laughed and looked at Lithril, "Thank you for helping me, Lithril." She said gratefully. "Don't worry about it." Lithril ruffled Talia's hair and opened the door for her.

Talia wondered around a bit until she finally found the throne room. "Good morning." The king said lazily as he looked up from the book he was reading. "What do you need," Talia asked, and then smirked, "My king." She spoke with all the sarcasm she could manage. The king furrowed his eyebrows. "Oh please, don't think I'm your King at all." He shot back with the same amount of sarcasm.

His face suddenly turned serious. "You are in my kingdom, so you better do as I say." He smirked and walked towards her, lifting her chin up. "Such beauty, I'm sure a lot of people would want to take advantage." His finger brushed against her lips, causing her lips to tremble. "Now, I shall offer you a place to stay, and you will be my personal servant." He said, highlighting the word "personal". It sent shivers down your spine as you thought of all the things he could do to you. Focus, Talia. Focus. You said to yourself as your eyes traced up and down the King's face. "And of course, you are going to accept my offer." He stated, not giving her a choice to decline.

She wouldn't turn the offer down anyways. It was one step closer to her final goal, plus, who wouldn't want to be close to the great elven king. "Talia is a human name, am I correct?" The king asked, returning to his throne. "Yes." She said. "Yes, my king." He corrected her with arrogance in his voice. "My king." She added, secretly cursing him. He never even thanked me for saving his life.

"I know what you're thinking. It's not nice to secretly curse a king." He smirked, "As I was saying, you would need an elven name in order to stay here. You shall be called Lindethiel from now on." He said. "Guards!" He shouted as two guards enter the room. "Show this pretty lady where her room is. And it shall be right next to mine." His gaze never left her eyes. As the guards turned around, she could still feel his hot stare on her back...or maybe lower.

The room was nice. It was big, the sheets were made of silk. It was surely the best room she's ever had Lovely curtains, and the thing that caught her eye was a big bookshelf. Well at least I won't be bored. The guards left and soon a young girl, possibly around 2000 came in your room, she smiled shyly. "The King has ordered me to help you with your measurements for your clothing." She said. She quickly took the measurements and left.

---

After Talia, or now Lindetheil, left the throne room, the king was annoyed. Very. He couldn't stop thinking that he had seen her before. He called Feren and wanted to ask him if he knew her. Him and Feren were quite close. "Feren." "Yes, my King?" "Does the name Talia sounds familiar to you? She's the girl that I brought back to Mirkwood." He said. Feren thought about it for a while. "I remember a girl called Talia back when you had attacked that human village," He said, "The couple that helped you, I think she was his daughter." Yes, that rang a bell. The King suddenly remembered, her smile, her eyes, he couldn't stop thinking about her for days after he returned to Mirkwood.

"I-I killed her parents didn't I?" He asked her, his face unreadable. "Y-Yes, my lord." Feren lowered his head as he remembered her loud cries as the village got burned down. He looked up, and he was very surprised, is it guilt he sees on his Kings face? Thranduil looked at him and his face turned into the cold expression he always had again. "You can go now."

-FLASHBACK-

"My King, here's some fruit and drinks for you." A young girl bowed slightly and left the tray on the table. "What's your name?" Thranduil asked, smiling. "Talia." She said as she smiled back. They started talking about her parents and she asked him a lot of questions about Mirkwood. She soon relaxed and was very comfortable around the elf King. "Talia?" Thranduil asked, breaking the silence, "Will you come to Mirkwood with me?" She seemed very shocked at his question, "M-My King, I'm afraid I can't." She said, whispering, "M-My parents are really nice to me and I like this village. The elven lifestyle won't suit me. My king." She looked sad as she turned down his offer. "It's fine, don't worry." He smiled but in his heart he was very disappointed.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

He smirked as he walked towards his room. All these years, could she have forgotten? Does she still know that I killed her parents? If she does, why did she act so normal around me?

The rest of the day passed very quickly as Thranduil had his own business to do and Lindetheil buried herself in the piles of books.
