3 Months after Fallen Kingdom:

Unknown P.O.V: Yosemite National Park Ranger station:

"127..........128........129.......130." I slap my forehead in annoyance. "Do you have to do that now?" I ask as my fellow ranger........and sister pops up from the ground, she's been doing pushups for the last hour and it's starting to bug me. "I'm bored......and we have to stay in shape." My sister, Becca, tells me as I gesture to her desk. "You have paperwork to do......so instead of making my time here miserable, how about you get some work down. These reports need to be in by tomorrow." I say as Becca groans. "Paperwork is boring." She says as I chuckle. "What did you expect from this job?" I ask as she sits across from me. "You know.......ride in the buggy through the trees. Stand on the tallest cliff.......find Yogi Bear's cave." She says as I laugh. "Even after all these years......you're still a child." I say as Becca glower at me.

"Ranger Station North, this is Ranger Station South, come in North, over."

The radio sounds over as I pick it up. Becca had rushed in to hear what the southern rangers had for us. "This Ranger Station North, we read you South, over." I sound over as Becca starts smiling. "This is exciting." She says as I shake my head. "We've been getting reports from tourists that a lot of dinosaurs have been moving northward. Greg's on the buggy and he sent me that the Big One has been seen around your area and is moving northwards. Over." That piece of news makes my eyes go wide. She's never come this far north before. "Is there a way to turn her back? Over." I ask. "She's too far gone, she was last seen heading to the redwoods, stay on your toes, we don't know why she has moved but keep her heads up, watch your six. Over and out." The radio goes dead as I hang it back on.

"She's coming here?" Becca asks me as I nod. I walk over, grab my hat and both sets of buggy keys. I chuck one to Becca who catches it. "Get your rifle, binoculars and load up your buggy. We're going out." I say as she starts cheering. "Yes! About time!" She goes off running to get her stuff. I chuckle under her enthusiasm, yep, still a kid. I had my rifle, binoculars and tranq darts and loaded them into my own buggy. "You ready?" Becca asks exictedly as she can't sit still on her buggy. "I'm more ready than you, sister." I say with seriousness. "Ooh, so serious." She says mockily as I look at her. "This is serious......these aren't bears or lions......and the Big One is not someone you want to piss off. So get your head out of the clouds and in the here and now." I say with anger as I ride off into he forest. As I ride, I can't help but think that she is not ready for this responsibility. Park Rangers weren't really taken seriously 2 two years ago but after what happened.......we are the front line workers that keep people safe. We had 4 near deaths in the last 3 weeks, and because of us, those 4 people get to go home to their families. Becca is a wild child, lives in the moment but can't seem to grasp just how big our responsibility is, she thinks it's a game but it's not. It's life or death, especially in Yosemite.

I stop the buggy as I hear my tracker go off. I take it out and see that I'm picking up a lot of pings to the southwest, just about 3 miles north of our southern border. Why are so many around. I take a look at the info bars which each ping and are bewildered at the large number of predators. Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Monolophosaurs, Ceratosaurus. Dozens of individuals from four different species, none of these animals would be in the same place without killing each other. I notice that they are surrounding a lone ping. I check the bar and it's a Brachiosaurus. Why is there one by itself. "What's the hod up?" Becca says in a sad tone as she comes up to me in her buggy.

I pass the tracker to her which she takes. "Predators. A lot of them." I say which makes her eyes go wide. "What do we do? Call it in?" She says as I shake my head. "These species would never be in the same vicinity of each other......we are going to check it out." I say as I ride off in the direction of the pings. "Keep close......don't want to draw any attention to us." I say over our comms. "Got it, boss." Becca says sadly and I sigh. "Look......I'm sorry." I say to her. "It's ok.....this is important and dangerous and I joked about it.......I should be the one that should be saying sorry." Becca says to me and I nod to myself. Glad that's cleared up. We come out onto a small hill stop. I get off my buggy with rifle in hand, binoculars around my neck. Becca also has her rifle and her binoculars wrapped around her neck. We came upon a small cliff as we look out to the massive clearing. Dozens of carnivores are circling around, what appears to be a Brachiosaurus carcass. "That's why there is so many." I say as I kneel down and look through my binoculars. "Why?" Becca asks. "It's like shark behaviour with whales. When the opportunity presents itself, predators will come from all over to snack on a massive carcass. These dinos have a neural and temporary peace, they all will feed off the carcass. Write this down, this has to be sent to HQ." I say as Becca gets out her notepad and starts writing down the new behaviour. "This is amazing." I say as I pass the binoculars to Becca as I take her notepad.

"Like a pack of sharks, huh?" Becca says as she points out something, she passes me the binoculars as I she what she pointed out. A Carnotaurus and an Albertosaurus were having a tug of war with a large piece of the Brach. The Alberta ultimately won when it twisted its head, throwing the heavier Carnotaur off balance. "I guess neutrality only goes so far." I say as Becca laughs. Suddenly feel hear loud thumping and the distance creaking of trees and branches. A ping goes off as we both look at the new ping that is approaching the clearing. I look out and see all the carnivores looking in the one direction. The ping gets closer and I see a large shape come out of the treeline. The unmistakeable size and arms along with the bulky muscular body tells me, who exactly has showed up.

RRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!!

The echoing bellow reaches us as Rexy, the last Tyrannosaur makes her appearance. She slowly marches up to the carcass as all the other carnivores back away from her. A Carnotaur had roared in defiance. Rexy simply snorted out her nose and the Carnotaur backed off from the mighty predator. "It's her.....I can't believe it." Becca says as she adjusts the scope of her binoculars. "Amazing, isn't she?" I say. "Uhh....yeah! This is great.....she just wakes up and rest back off like punks." She says as I just shake my head and laugh. I look through my scope and see the Rex feasting on the carcass. "Guess this proves the scavenger theory." Becca says but I shake my head. "I don't think so......nothing could have brought that Brach down......the carnivores came because it was an opportunity. Rexy is no different. Here is a large meal that she doesn't have to work for. Why pass it up and waste energy hunting down something that could get away?" I ask Becca and she ponders it for a minute and nods in agreement.

"Wait..... something's happening." Becca says as I look through the binoculars. Rexy has turned her attention away from the carcass to an Albertosaurus trying to sneak a piece away. Rexy roars in warning but the Alberta gives no ground. Rexy steps over the neck of the carcass and picks the piece up and pulls on it. The half assed pull tips the pie E from the smaller carnivore as Rexy hobbles it down. Rexy growls in warning to the Alberta who is furiously roaring at her. The smaller carnivore charges but Rexy simply swings her head and the Albertosaurus goes flying through the air, landing roughly on its side. The battered carnivore gets to its feet, though wobbling, it roared in defiance again. I see Rexy's eyes almost narrow in anger, Rexy gives a mighty roar at the Alberta, which final backs down, its head hung low. Rexy snorts a breath of air out her nose before turning back to the carcass. "Amazing.......she disciplined it." I say in wonderment. "What?" Becca asks as I turn to her. "Rexy could have easily killed that Alberta but she didn't......she hurt it first in warning than roared in anger second.......she didn't want to kill it because she had no reason too. She had two carcass, the Alberta was being an annoyance, so she taught it a lesson." I say a so smile and look back. The other predators have moved away to the treeline but still stay.....almost waiting. Like hyenas, waiting for the lions to finish. I notice that Rexy has stopped eating and is sniffing around. "What's she doing?" Becca asks and my eyes go wide when Rexy turns her head to where we are. "She's sees us." I say as we get up. Rexy is still staring at us, she tilts her head before snorting at us, she goes back to her meal with no regard to us. "Maybe we should go." Becca says as I nod. "Agreed." We run back to the buggys and make our way back to the Station. This day went from boring to the best day in my life in the span of an hour. Wait until mum and dad hear about this one.
