Chapter 24

My visions widen and I stand in front of her frozen. I don't know what to say, my brain is screaming at me but none of the words is coming out. She's standing in front of me telling me that she has feelings for me and I can't fucking move.

"You don't have to say anything it's just- fuck, there's something about you Y/N, you are so kind, sweet, funny, caring but at the same time confident, sexy, blunt, sassy and- I don't know. You just make me feel so safe and calm and happy and I don't even want this project to end" She laughs dryly. "Hell, I just want you to stay with me, here in Miami. Forget about our lives and dance with you in my house, watch you interact with Cleo, go on these little adventures together, have mind-blowing sex, I just want to hide in your warm and soft embrace. You make me feel like the world has completely stopped and in my line of work that's next to impossible and I-I like you Y/N." She rambles.

I've gotta be dreaming. I pinch myself and suck in a breath when I feel the sting in my leg. When I realised I'm still awake I know exactly what I have to do.

My body moves on autopilot and I pull Lauren into me softly crashing our lips together in a slow and comforting kiss. I pull away slowly, placing gently my forehead into her own. "I really like you too, Lauren" She smiles brightly bringing me into another meaningful kiss.

"Let's go, I want to show you something," She says taking my hand in hers and interlacing our fingers. We enter the gift shop, going straight to the stuffed animals. Lauren finds a stuffed white whale making me gasp and fetching it closer to my chest.

I look at Lauren with puppy eyes, and she nods her head going straight to the cashier and paying for this little guy. "You are so adorable" I murmur to the stuffed animal. Lauren looked at us, after handing her card to the cashier lady. "I have been replaced by a stuffed animal, unbelievable" Lauren says to the woman.

I scowl at Lauren, "His name is Pepe, don't call him a stuffed animal. He has feelings you know?"

The older woman let out a laugh, looking at us. "Now I'm 100% sure he replace you," She whispers to Lauren. We say our thank you, exiting the gift shop and making our way toward Lauren's vehicle.

"Thank you," I say grabbing Laurens's wrist making her back rest on her car. "This meant the world to me, and I'm so grateful for this day. My father always wanted to take my brother and me to the zoo, but we never got the chance. So thank you, because I know they wanted me to fulfil all the plans we had before they were taken away from me" I say with tears in my eyes, I look up to the sky, looking at the beautiful twilight.

Lauren cups my face gently, wiping my tears away with her thumb finger. My eyes trail back to Lauren's eyes, who is smiling softly.

"The pleasure is mine" She whispers before kissing my lips softly. I lean into her embrace, letting myself enjoy this moment.

"Let's go home" Lauren whispers into my hair. Placing a small kiss on the crown of my hair.

I nodded my head before grabbing the keys from her back pocket and entering the driver's seat with a small smile upon my lips.

"That was sneaky" Lauren commented joining the passenger side. "We both know I'm a better driver than you, dear," I said cockily. I started the car, exiting the Zoo's parking lot. "Plus, I'm craving some ice cream" I add placing my hand in Laurens's thigh.

She giggles, shaking her head. "You are always hungry," She lets out looking through the window.
"Mmm, that's because I have a really big appetite" I laugh caressing her thighs and drawing random patterns.

I put some music on, glancing back at Lauren who has already her eyes closed. I smiled at the sight of her sleeping, remembering our intimate words from earlier.
