Discretion of readers required,The sunrays through the pandal forced to open her dosy eyes, flickering her lashes observed laying on her father's lap "baba..." embraced him. She felt him caressing lovingly just like the previous night, "Maaf kijiye baba... mein..." she tried, "baba pukarthi ho aur maafi bhi mang rahi ho..." her father passed a smile which she returned.
The memories of last night flooded making her dull, impotent and on top of all the guilty of not being valiant as he thought, wished was killing her, "kuch doond rahi thi?" her father's question drifted her, "woh... woh..." she stammered unable to share, "joh bhi doond rahi ho woh tere andhar hi hai, tuje bas Jaake dhyaan se dekna hai."
It was absurd to her but hoping to see if it is real, and if so she cannot miss it as she was so desperately in search of her lost strength.
Closing her eyelids in trepid of her horrifying past, her inner itself began to chant a name and as she relived that dreadful night realized, it was him and incanting his name she felt fueled up with bravery courage to protect her, to destroy the brute who was about to devour her.
And the him was undoubtedly her dear husband, she smiled with her eyes still being closed.
Realized, she just realized it was him and indeed it was her too, she was always such optimistic, daring in expressing her point to everyone, the family, the society, and even the world at large. She never feared for she knew to stand by truth is a difficult pathway to choose but when chosen not alone never alone, they have eachother moreover she was his strength he himself had admitted multiple times.
She felt silly about her factitious trauma, it was just the suddenness of the situation she was slipped into otherwise she was a lioness, his lioness who had hunted the brute, the wild animal in disguise of man.
And atlast, though she was sufficient to face any such men, he was all she needed, her powerhouse and she just realised. She was a matchstick and all she needed was the slight friction with the matchbox, orelse she was all self sufficient to burn herself and others too in her raged wrath.
Leaving her father back she sprinted back to her house though it was all new she did not wait for her father to accompany to guide her pathway and her heart was definitely not in such linience, it was beating in excitement. She wanted to see him, tell him, confess everything to him and atlast wanted to prove him she was valiant enough to face such filthy men, "aapki Bondita aarahi hai aapke paas, patibabu."
She hastenly jumped down the cart and with frequent glance at her wristwatch darted into the seriousness filled courtroom, all silent in reverence to the law justice truth that was living taking air with all audacity.
Covering herself with the free end of her saree sat on the last row of the room thanking God for making it on right time. From the atmosphere she perceived it is going to start, the hearing, his fight, her husband her barrister's battle for the stalwart peasants, and for their lands.Though her presence unaware to any her thrilled eyes sparkled spotting her loving husband no her mighty Barrister all prepared to hurl his witty words, though ready observed his restlessness and her heart twitched for her being the reason, "Mein yehi hoon," he lifted his eyes scrutinising the room, "jaantha hoon tum yehi ho," and sat himself, "Jeetiye Barrister babu," as if heared her, "Zaroor, Bondita..."
The mismatch of words continued as the arguments heated up throughout the hearing, she was awed by his statements turning the opposition down mum and sometimes drooled over his beguiling manliness, "mere biristera babu..." inaudibly noticing his fierce side.
".............. with all the facts and evidence, the court gives a last chance of two months to the defendant to prove their side. The Court is adjourned for the day."
And as soon as the judge left the court room, the series of claps by peasants were followed by whistles and it just confirmed him of her presence, "Bondita..." his eyes in search of her.
