Ivy's POV

All the text said was "Hi," but I didn't respond back. I thought the whole episode at the party was a act of kindness, but it sounds like Miles and just one of those guys who likes to mess with girls heads on how he actually is. I shouldn't have bothered with him. After school, I made sure the drive home does not involve Mile's name in it. I don't really want to talk about him. The whole saving a downtown motorcycle going, how many girls has he done that with? And what if he is one of those boys who you don't do what they say, and they dump your body on the side of the road. My phone vibrates in my bag as I'm driving, and Megan offers to answer it but I tell her its probably Dad saying he is going out tonight.

When I get home I check Mile's text message:

"All I said was Hi, you left me on read as if I was threatening your life." -M

I left him on read to get my head straight. I could no longer have contact with this boy for my own safety. What is Stacy capable of? And what is Miles after? I know I over think things but there is always a possibility. No boy just goes up to a girl at a bar and then saves her at a party shortly after. I let my thoughts wander as I fall asleep early.

I wake up to no new texts from Miles. Good. I repeated my day at school as usual. Dad told me to work at the restaurant, so I texted Megan to meet me there. "That thing for global, what is your topic?" "Something about Chinese customs," I sat as I put the the clean plays the dish washer, Darcy just washed and dried. "Mine is bout the different views on life," Megan replied. "From different religions." I shook my head. "The length is killer though." Megan said, which made me laugh. Different religions have different views on life, but why are Miles and are so different?
