Y/N's pov:
"Mirabel!"
I called out, hugging her.

We were at Dolores' Daughter's gift ceremony, and I was 17 and mirabel was 18
(I named dolores' daughter Livv and she has the power to be able to see/talk to ghosts)

"How are you girl?? I haven't seen you in like, 2 years! You've changed so much"
She said, smiling.

"Great! And same to you! Is carlos and camilo still fighting like they used to"
I laughed, rolling my eyes playfully.

"Heh, yeah, it got so bad at one point carlos beat the shit out of him, lol"
She said, looking at carlos who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, still wearing a maroon ruana but with black shorts and a pinkish pale colour button-up shirt.

"Haha, he is still as cute as I remember"
I laughed, staring at him.

"Oolalaaa~"
Mirabel teased, nudging my shoulder jokingly.

"Oh shut up"
I smirked blushing.

"Go talk to himm!"
She smiled, pushing me towards him.

"Uhm- lemme get fresh air first!"
I awkwardly said before rushing out of the door, grasping for air.

"Few.. that was close. I'm not about to confess my feelings to my crush carlos after only just returning"
I ranted on to myself, leaning over the railing while massaging my temples to ease my stress.

"Plus I think he is dating someone already, I don't want to make him a cheater!"
I continued, sighing as I just stood in silence before hearing someone come out of the party.

E! ITS CARLOS HIDE
I thought as I quickly ran and hid behind a plant.

He was closing the door so luckily he couldn't see me.

"Ugh. I hate these stupid parties, all the attention goes to Camilo the shapeshifter, but I'm always seen as Camilo's twin brother. It's always camilo, camilo camilo camilo. Sigh. Dios Mio I just need a break"
Carlos vented on to himself, I felt so bad.

Did he really get seen as 'camilo's twin brother' and never 'carlos madrigal'?

I continued to hide behind the plant and then I heard soft sniffles, and then he pushed the hair covering the side of his face out to reveal his full face, so he could cry.

Jeez.. I never knew he had it this rough . . .
I thought as I continued to watch the poor man sob quietly, so dolores couldn't hear.

I think it's time I should go help him.
I got up after telling my self that and softly said his name.

"Carlos . ."
He shot his head up and quickly wiped his tears away, before covering his eye with his hair again.

I didn't realise I was only just taller than him, heh.

"Please don't hide it, I saw everything"
I spoke, before pulling him into a hug, I knew he wasn't a 'hug' type person but I think he really needed one right now.

We both kneeled down to the floor and he softly cried in my arms, I felt so sorry for him.

"Shh, it's okay"
I softly spoke, rubbing his back for comfort.

Even tho we were both 17 I still think he has a lot on his mind, even after 2years of being away from encanto.

"So camilo is being a dickhead huh?"
I smiled, trying to sort of lighten the mood, luckily succeeding because I made him crack a small laugh.

"Yeah, and it's hard because I'm always getting into fist fights with older kids"
He said, wiping his eyes.

"Hm, well I bet you your stronger than them mentally, because your the kindest most sweetest and handsome boy ever"
I hummed realising I just called him handsome, that's a start I guess.

"Heh, thanks, can I confess something to you? . ."
He asked, getting off of me and sitting cross legged right infront of me.

Carlos grabbed my hands softly and rubbed them with his thumbs before sighing.

(As a confidence boost)

"I have liked you for a long time, you were always there for me and always chose me over my stupid twin.
Te quiero, y/n."

I can't believe what I was hearing. He loved me? Ok ok stay cool stay cool, just say you love him back, because you really do.

"I love you too carlos"
I smiled before leaning in and kissing him, softly but passionately.

We both let go and gasped for air lightly, our eyes still hooked on eachother.

"What we're the chances, heh"
Carlos said rolling his eyes playfully.

"Hah, yeah. Glad I chose you over camilo lol, he has anyone else to choose from but that just means I get you all to myself"
I said jumping into his arms playfully.

"Yeah, I'm glad you did too"
He said smiling before we kissed again.
