everyone was sitting in the great hall waiting for the sorting ceremony to begin, the boys were talking about the pranks they plan on doing this year while Mona, lily, Marlene and Mary were conversing on their own, when Dumbledore started to give his annual start of the year speech "welcome to another year at Hogwarts"

he started making mona yawn and look around, she looked back ready to talk to Marlene but notices her looking elsewhere.

mona followed her gaze and found Dorcus meadows, a sixth year Ravenclaw, mona just smirked and turned back to Marlene, "so meadows huh?"  making her snap back into reality "what?" she said just making mona smile even more while turning to face the boys.

"Hufflepuff" mona said while looking at the nervous boy on the stool "HUFFLEPUFF" said the hat "oh come on, that's six in a row, how are you so good at this"

its a game the marauders started playing every year since 3rd year, it kills the time

"i guess im just that good" mona said watching as the next girl sat on the stool, instead of guessing mona just looked around the great hall, feeling a pair of eyes on her, she looked at the Hufflepuff table when brown eyes met green, she recognised the boy as Amos Diggory, Hufflepuff seeker,he was a kind boy but he was always unavailable due to his relationship with a certain slytherin , mona kept eye contact, neither one breaking it, until a-

"RAVENCLAW" yelled the hat, causing mona to look away but she looked back and his brown eyes were still on her

mona just rolled her eyes and looked back, she didn't do relationships.

she felt a second pair of eyes on her, but this time she didn't look back.

a few hours later the marauders are hanging out in the common room when lily came through the portrait, mona smiled before remembering James was in the room "oh merlin" she mumbled to herself as James rose from his seat

"lily-flower how are you today" James asked her enthusiastically "oh merlin get me away from him" lily said as James pouted "oh come on lily-flower, you know you love me"

"and he's done" whispered Sirius, mona looked at him when there was a big *THUD* then a "WHEN WILL YOU GET IT IN YOUR HEAD YOU AROGENT TOE-RAG" yelled lily as she stormed up to the dorm

mona wanted to laugh at the fact James just got hit with a fat book but she decided not to when she saw the sad look on his face, "you alright prongs" said Sirius clearly noticing the look to

"yeah, ill get her one day" he said with a face of confidence, hiding the sadness he feels.

they just decided to change the subject while mona went up to her dorm.

"why cant he just stop, its not even funny" mona heard while she walking into her shared dorm.

in the dorm there is mona, Marlene, Lily and Mary, there was another girl, Alice but she graduated last year, but its not bad, Mary and mona are in their fifth year while the other two girls are in their sixth.

"what's going on?" mona said as she noticed lily faced down on her bed with Mary next to her, Marlene walked passed her and whispered "potter" as she headed to the bathroom making mona let out an "ah"

mona walked over to lily and grabbed her hand, rubbing circles on it, "you know James means well, he's just not very good at actually getting your attention"

"you can stop pretending mona i know its just a prank" lily whispered before continuing "i just didn't know he would keep it up for this long" "wait lily, do you think he's only doing this as a joke?" mona asked confused

"of course its a joke mona, don't you see? why else would the "famous James potter" go after the "mud blood lily evens"" hearing that shocked mona completely

"lily don't you say that, don't you ever say that, you're amazing okay? whether you were born from magic or not, he does all this because he's in-love with you" mona said

before smiling and continuing "do you really think he would do everything he does as a joke? lily i hear him up all night talking to his parents about you, and merlin knows we have to hear about it every night, now James potter may be a- what did you call it? an arrogant toe-rag?" mona said making lily laugh through her tears "but he would never hurt someone like that, especially you"

lily just sat up and hugged mona and whispered "thank you" mona just smiled and hugged her back.

just in time for Marlene to come out of the bathroom "well thank merlin that's over, now can we sleep now, im tired" she said making everyone laugh and nod.

mona woke up in a sweat 'another nightmare' she thought to herself.

she shook her head trying to get rid of the memories "you're not special" said Mona's mother throwing another spell at her "your job here is to do what i say, after all i gave you life the most you can do is do what i tell you"

getting up from her bed mona looked towards the sleeping figured of her friends and smiled softly.

making her way up the astronomy tower, she could only think of the memories that haunts her dreams, pushing the door open she jumped at the figure leaning over the railing.

she saw the figure look back and groan "great" he said sarcastically regulus she thought

She debated turning around and going back to the dorms but she wasn't going to come all the way out here for nothing, plus she was curious as to why regulus black of all people is out so late

As she stepped closer to see a cigarette in between his fingers

"what are you doing out here blood-traitor" "blood-traitor wow that's a new one" mona said sarcastically "is it a lie?" he asked "you're suck a prick"

"yeah tell me something i don't know" he said while inhaling his smoke, "what you sneaking out of some guys room?" he said making mona confused "what?" "oh come on, i saw the looks you were giving Diggory, you're just as bad as he is"

"are you calling me a slut?" mona said angrily "im just calling it what it is"

it was just as mona stepped closer that she smelt something fire-whiskey "your drunk?" "maybe, doesn't change the fact that you're a slutttt" he said dragging on the T with a slight laugh

"tell me who have you slept with? my brother defiantly, probably that scar faced loony lupin?" he said just making mona even angrier "i don't see how that's any of your business" just making Regulus shrug

"maybe not, but a guy cant help but be curious" he said while looking her up and down

"you're revolting" she said as he just nodded and stepped closer towards her "tell me more" he whispered "you're shameful, you bully others to keep yourself feeling good, you blood-shame"

mona went on while regulus was nodding taking yet another step forward, "not to mention you purposely ruin my work just to keep yourself above me and i-" she paused as regulus reached a hand up brushing a fallen piece of hair and tucking it behind her ear.

grey eyes melting into her green

no one pulling away

until she did

"what the hell are you doing?" she asked slightly shocked it took her so long to break it, regulus merely shrugged and put out his cigarette, mona pulled out her wans and pointed it to the Slytherins throat "do that again and ill kill you before you can say the word snake", regulus smirked and walked away without saying a word.
