Chapter 4

That was the time I read on my watch, we lost track of time after we finished our food. It wasn't that late but I was worn out from my long trip and needed to rest.

"Chloé thank you so much for coming, it was so nice meeting you, I hope we get to see you soon," said Mrs. Rossi when we stood up from the booth.

"It was a pleasure to meet your family Mrs. Rossi, thank you for dining with my father and me," I said.

"Anytime," she replied and gave me a smile.

I thanked Mr. Rossi and told him I was happy we were able to meet and have a lovely diner my first day at my new home city. He thanked me and assured me we would be able to hang out soon with our families again, considering how close they were with my father.

"It was a pleasure to meet you Chloé," I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned around and there was Nathaniel.

"It was nice to meet you too," I replied.

"We will be seeing each other soon, that I hope," he said and gave me a small smile.

"Sure thing," I smiled up at him.

I heard Mr. and Mrs. Rossi with my dad engrossed in a conversation as they approach us, so I started walking first heading to exit the restaurant. I smiled at the staff and wished them a good night, the doorman held the door open for me and I thanked him before wishing him a good night and exited the restaurant. After I had walked a considered distance from the door, the wind hit me hard while I was searching for my phone in my purse. I was not prepared and the wind had managed to bring my skirt up and exposed my bare legs and was starting to bring it higher to expose my underwear, all this and my hand were tangled in my purse. That was when I felt someone hug me from behind and encircled his arms in waist and rested his hands in my waist. He had prevented my skirt from exposing my underwear, I was afraid to turn around and find a creepy old man but his hands looked familiar. I turned my head around slightly and saw Nathaniel.

He looked normal in comparison to my face which probably looked like a strawberry considering I must have been blushing incredulously. He removed his hands from my body and came to my side as we continued walking. I was so uncomfortable, I felt so embarrassed and I was trying to hide my blush from his blazing stare.

"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," he said in a shy tone.

"No, no, um, thank you actually. If it weren't for you, well um..." I couldn't finish the sentence, I felt so embarrassed.

"No need to thank me Chloé, I was helping you that is all," he said and his voice came out raspy involuntarily and I swear that made me blush even more, because it turns out his raspy voice is sexier than his normal voice which I thought was impossible to become sexier. What the hell is wrong with me?

I was trying to find my dad's BMW, which by the way I want so badly I hope he will lend me his X7. I wanted to get this uncomfortableness over with and scurry away from this man who was starting to cloud my thoughts. When I finally saw my dad's car I headed in that direction and Nathaniel followed suit. When we reached my dad's car I tried opening the passenger's door and forgot it was locked and my dad had the key. I looked around nervously looking for my dad and hoping he would see me. When I saw him, he immediately spotted me a pressed a button from the key he held in his hand and the car's door made a sound that meant they were now unlocked. Nathaniel beat me at it and grabbed the door's handle and opened the door for me. I blushed for the tenth time and got inside the car as he came to my side and he was staring at me before he smiled.

"Goodnight Chloé, it was lovely to be a part of your first day in your new home. Enjoy your weekend and relax, that way you will be able to start your senior year on Monday with no anxiety," he said in a reassuring voice. Sure thing pal, and how does he know I start school on Monday? My thoughts were interrupted by my father who had called after Nathaniel.
