Chapter 9

    I turn and see Caine still pointing the gun, "this is my sister, and it's ok she's on our side." I say motioning to Kalique, "Abrasax doesn't know any side but their own." He responds looking between the three of us, "Precisely, that's why I'm helping them." Kalique says with a smile, "he has contacted the Aegis. They are entering orbit now." One of the helpers informed, "Excellent. I had planned on taking you there myself, but the Aegis will undoubtedly insist they handle things from here" she says rolling her eyes, I look back over at Caine. He meets my eyes and I place my hand on his gun lowering it. Kalique grabs Jupiter and I's hands, "I wish for you two the life you've always dreamed of." I glance over at Caine who is glaring daggers at Kalique. "Thank you, that's incredibly kind" I say, giving her a smile she insisted on giving us hugs. A mechanical hum was heard "Oh look, there's your ride" she walked us down to the pierre and we got on the ship following Caine, well I did, when I turned Jupiter wasn't following.

    "Jupe. What are you doing? Come on." She just looked at me and shook her head, "I'm not going anywhere with him, I don't trust him" she says motioning to Caine, I take a step closer so he can hear me. "I'll handle this you go inside" he stands there for a second and glances at Kalique, "I'll wait by the door" he says stepping up and standing at the entrance. I look back over at Jupiter, "come on, don't you trust me?" I asked holding my hand out, "of course I do. I just don't trust them, I mean I don't know any of them or where they are taking us." I was about to respond when someone beat me to it. "Well you trust me don't you?" A man just a little bit shorter than Caine, with wings came walking out and down on the ramp, he had darker hair, but the same ears and teeth as Caine.

    "Yes," Jupiter replies, taking his hand and walking up. I look over at Caine who is staring down the other guy with a mix of an angry and surprised expression. I walk back up the ramp waving goodbye to Kalique one last time, and walking in with Caine by my side. He grabs a coat on the way in and quickly puts it on himself, still not taking eyes off of the guy in front of us. "Welcome aboard, Your Majesties. My name is Diomika Tsing. I'm the Captain of this Aegis Cruiser. "Oh please call me Jupe" "and you can just call me Saturn" I say with a smile, "Your Majesty" I hear someone say I look over and see Stinger.

    "Oh my gosh, Stinger. Thank god you're alright, I don't know what I would've done with myself if I knew you died because of me." I say walking over and giving him a hug, "I'm fine, for the time being, Your Majesty. For the time being." He says then backs off slightly. "We'll be escorting you to the commonwealth Ministry on Orous. If there's anything we can do to make the journey easier, you let us know." The Captain says to us, "Um actually, if it's not too much trouble, can I get a change of clothes?" She nods and I see a few people step forward, I take a step back and hold my hands in front of me, "by myself please, while I'm awake" I smile looking back at Caine, "what?" He asks, I laugh, "nothing" someone brings me a pair of clothes and boots. "Thank you so much, where should I change?" I ask looking around, "right this way" the Captain says, leading me to a little room with a door. They closed it and I got changed, I was now in a wide strap navy blue tank top made out of a thick material, I had grey leggings made from the same thick material, there was a medal band that I attached to my bicep. "Thank god, it feels so good to be out of that dress" I say, zipping up my boots when I hear a dinging noise coming from the door. I see Caine out of the tiny window on the door. "I don't know how it opens" I laugh a second later and it fully opens. "Oh that's how" I laugh, "Hey, come in" I say, ushering him inside.

    "Your Majesty might want to take a few of these. Portaling can be a little rough on the royal bowels." He says placing some pills in my hand and handing me a glass of water. "Oh, thank you" I say before swallowing the pills and water, I hand him back the cup and turn and walk to the other side of the little room disposing of the cup. "You heard the lady down there. You're an Abrasax now." "Haha you're funny" I say sarcastically, "I'm a Jones, except when I'm mad then I'm a Bolonikov" I laugh. "If that's all you were, you would not be on any Aegis Cruiser headed to the Hall of Titles." My smile fades as I look around, "like I said, I'm a nobody, so this is just crazy" he just shrugged in response. I look up at him and clear my throat. "Hey uh, Stinger said you attacked an Entitled one? Is that true?" I ask, messing with a moon and star ring I always wear. He looks down "Stinger talks too much, doesn't matter if it's true" he says getting defensive. "You're right, I'm sorry it's none of my business, sorry I asked" I say stepping away from his gaze and sitting by the window looking out at the universe. He sighs and walks over to me sitting across from me, "Look, the truth is I don't know why I did it... I don't even remember doing it. It just happened."

   He looks up at me, "sometimes we do things that we can't explain, or feel a way we can't explain." I state, "They said it was in my genes. A defect in my geoengineering." "Wish that could be the excuse for me" I say he raises an eyebrow "well for one thing, I always deceive myself and fall for guys who I know don't fall for me... But you know what, I end up falling anyway, and always end up getting hurt." I say looking from outside to him, "I guess I just don't know when to stop, I like to see the good in people, blinds me from the bad. Then comes to kick me in the butt. Guess my genes are defective, I don't know how to fix them." He looks into my eyes then stands up, "you're royalty now. I'm a Splice. You don't understand what that means, but I have more in common with a dog than I have with you." I nod and look down at my feet. "I should uh, go Your Majesty" I just nod and look back outside. "You need to strap in before we portal." He says walking out, "Ok, thanks" I say quietly as the door closes, I buckle in and continue to look out the window.

    A little while after I hear another ding, "come in" I say not moving or bothering to look who it is. "Your Majesty, uh we haven't been properly introduced. My name is Brice Wise. I was the Splice who saved your sister." He says sitting across from me holding out his hand, I sit up and shake it. "Please call me Saturn" I say with a smile he smiles nervously. "So I see you're a Lycantant, as well" I say, he looks up at me and smiles, "Uh, yeah Caine's my younger brother, he's the reason I'm here" he says. "Caine's your brother? Hmm I didn't know that." I reply with an intrigued smile, "Yeah he didn't tell you? Sounds like Caine, yeah he's my younger brother once word got around that Titus had hired Caine to come get you. I volunteered to go get your sister, which let me tell you was no picnic." I laugh, "I bet. I have trouble just getting her out of bed in the morning." We both start laughing but stop at the sound of someone clearing their throat, we look over and see Caine. "Uh, Your Majesty. If you would like to come in the front command center you may." He says, I nod and unbuckle, "thank you" I smile. "Hey uh, why don't I walk you up there" Brice said, "sure" he smiles and gets up and stands next to me. I notice Caine isn't following. "Caine? You coming?" I ask softly, he just shakes his head, "no, Your Majesty" he says calmly and walks the other direction.
