3rd Person POV
It had been two weeks since Hermione and Regina had been petrified, and in that time another student, a Gryffindor first year by the name of Colin Creevey had also been petrified.
Draco was getting impatient, and he was spending a lot of time sitting by his sister's bed in the hospital wing.
Harry and Ron had also been in numerous times to visit Hermione, while they were trying to find the chamber of secrets. Regina and Hermione both desperately wished that they could do something to help the boys, but they couldn't do anything except hope that they would find the crinkled up parchment in Hermione's left hand. If they found that, they would know that it was a basilisk that was petrifying students, and they'd know how it was getting around the school.
But all the two girls could do was lay there, unmoving, and hope to Merlin that either Harry or Ron would notice it.
Harry's POV
"There's got to be something we've missed. Something that will help us," I said to Ron, who was by my side, walking with me down the corridor towards the hospital wing.
We were going to visit Hermione again, to tell her that the mandrakes were ready to be cut, and by tonight the potion would be ready. She wouldn't have to wait much longer. We know there really is no point in it, seeing as we don't even know if she knows we're there, but we went anyway.
We arrived at the hospital wing, and walked to Hermione's bedside. Other than us and the students who'd been petrified, it was empty. Malfoy wasn't in visiting Regina right now, and Madam Pomfrey was in her office.
I looked over at Regina when I sat down next to Hermione's bed. During the year, I had gotten a bit closer to Regina, although not as much as Hermione had. Ron was still rather wary of her, but he had admitted to me once that she wasn't as bad as some of her housemates.
Looking back at Hermione, I heard Ron say something, but didn't pay attention to what it was.
I had only glanced at her hand, but looking at it again, more closely, I could see what looked like a piece of crumpled up parchment.
I reached forward and gently tugged it out of her palm, so it wouldn't rip, and smoothed it out.
"What's that you've got?" Ron asked.
Ignoring his question, I stood up.
"Oh, Hermione, you're brilliant! Come on Ron, we have to go," I told him, quickly exiting the hospital wing with a confused Ron on my tail.
Hey, so I know that this is really, really short (don't kill me!), but that seemed like a good place to end the chapter.
So, there's only going to be a couple more chapters in this book. Its short, I know, but I wasn't going to make these books super long originally anyway. I will, however, be writing a second book, and this will be a series. All of the books in this series (however many I end up writing) will probably all be around 10 to 15 chapters long. Just letting you know in advance.
Anyway, thanks for reading, please vote and comment! I love getting feedback from you guys. :)
Luv ya!
