Glow Worm's POV

Everything turned real the day Bebe left. But, let's go before that.

I was given to a girl when I was only 4 while she was outside. My new parents, without thinking, brought me in. The girl, my new sister, was 6 years older than me. He name was Bebe, and she was wonderful. But I never felt at home with my adoptive parents. They paid attention to neither Bebe nor I.

I also looked quite different from them all. My adoptive family was fair-skinned, with different shades of blondish hair, and blue and white eyes. Then with me. Dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. I never felt like I belonged. If our parents weren't ignoring us, they were judging every aspect of our being, Shaming and criticizing us.

Eventually, Bebe tired of it and left. I remember it vividly.

It was almost midnight when I was awoken by something. It was the front door opening. Fearing the worst, I got out of bed and crept down the stairs. Was it burglars? Gang members? Kidnappers? The scariest thing was that I didn't know.

When I reached downstairs, my eyes were met with my sister in front of the open door. She had a backpack with her, and a shocked look on her face. She sighed in relief, "Oh, it's just you, Lester." She sighed. "What are you doing?" I whispered. "I can't handle it anymore..." She said sadly. "I can come with you! I'll get my things and-" She cut me off. "I can't take you with me." She said bluntly. "Wh-What? But I-I don't wanna be alone..." I whispered. "I'm sorry... But hey, maybe fate will bring us together again..." She said softly. She took something off the table next to her. She handed it to me, but I couldn't see it too well. I couldn't exactly see that well to begin with. I knew I needed glasses, but my parents didn't notice.

I felt its soft fur and long ears, A rabbit plushie? I stared at it for a moment, then looked up. But I only saw a closed door.

The next few days were a nightmare without my sister. Not that my parents seemed to notice. FInally, I too had enough and decided to leave on my own way. I wandered for days until my legs were practically unusable. Spiders ran up and down my legs.

Spiders.

I. Hate. Spiders.

I was probably more dead than alive. I was only 8.

Then came the day where something happened that became a part of my regular life. A portal opened up and pulled me in, before I could scream or even react. I landed on my back, hitting my head on hardwood floors. I gasped for air, the wind having been knocked out of my lungs. My vision was covered in black spots as I passed out.

I was knocked out for what felt like days. My eyes squinted open, and I was shocked by how clear my vision was. I sat up, knocking something off the bed, I looked at it. It was my plushie. It had fallen next to my backpack. I looked around in confusion. I was in a room with blue walls and white floors. The bed had cozy, yellow sheets. I felt my face; I was wearing glasses. I was in new pjs and comfortably snuggled to the pillows. It was as if someone was waiting for himI got up and picked up my plushie, wandering out to the hallway. I went to a large living room with one person in it. She had longish light green and teal hair, cat ears, fair skin, black wings, two light green and teal cat tails, two sets of black and white antlers, and when she turned around, I was her white eyes with black pupils.

"Bebe?" I asked, tilting my head. She smiled. "Heya Lester." She said, her voice wavering, as if she were going to cry. I ran to my sister and hugged her.

The rest, as they say, is history.

I joined the group and was given magic by their guardian, Mama (Along with a new look). I even got a new name.

Glow Worm.

Bebe gave it to me, saying that it was because I was the brightest light when we were with our parents.
