Gun's POV

Bebe and I were wandering around the Hybrid Dimension, a dimension filled with hybrid-creatures. Bee wanted to do something spooky, much to my objection, and suggested we do a ouija board in an abandoned apartment. This would - not - be fun. She dragged me to the empty room and sat down. We set up the board, but I was still hesitant to do it. She kept begging and begging until I finally agreed. We began, but at first, nothing happened. We kept going for around 5 minutes, but still, nothing happened.

Suddenly, when I asked, "Is there anyone here?" For the hundredth time, the planchette moved. I looked up at Bebe and smirked, "Alright, Bee. I know you moved it." I said, laughing a bit. Bebe just stared at it in shock. "I... I didn't..." She whispered. "Suuuuure." I said, rolling my eyes. "What's your name, 'ghost'?" I said jokingly. The planchette started moving again.

"Wh-what?" I whispered in shock, lifting my hand.

The planchette started flying around, like it was being tossed. It flew across the room, slamming into the walls. I screamed and held onto Bebe, who was quiet in shock. The things in the room started flying everywhere, and I held my head to protect myself. Suddenly, a figure began to fade in. She was a little girl in a green dress. She had long black hair, pale skin, a black and white wolf tail, black wolf ears, deer antlers, and blood on her face. She also had white wings, and a little halo. I stared at her in shock. She looked like she was a little child. Once everything had somewhat calmed down, the girl opened her eyes. One of them was green, and the eye with blood on side of her face was white. She smiled a bit at them. "Hi! Have you seen my bear?" She asked. Gun looked to the corner of the room and pointed to a light blue teddy bear. "Is that it?" She asked The girl smiled brightly and ran to it. She picked it up and hugged it tightly. "What's your name?" Bebe asked, finally speaking up. "I told you already, I'm Cherry Midnight!" She chirped sweetly.

"Cool name!" Gun complimented. Cherry smiled sweetly, "Thank you!" She said. "Cherry, where's your family?" Bebe asked, concerned. Cherry's smile faded. "Mommy left and Daddy is..." She trailed off, hugging onto his bear. "Well, I don't know if he likes me or not..." She said sadly. Gun's expression softened. "Poor thing..." She mumbled.

Cherry Midnight

Cherry's POV

Mommy and Daddy weren't ready for a kid. Mommy backed out immediately. Daddy was devastated. He'd drink his spicy juice and he'd get really mean.

He said that I'd never be anything.

He said I was dumb.

But he'd also protect me, and defend me against anything.

Anything that wasn't him.

I never quite understood.

"You better start defending yourself." Daddy grumbled, dragging my home by my wrist. I stumbled a bit, trying to catch up with him. "S-Sorry..." I whispered. "Sorry doesn't cut it, ya brat." He retorted. "Ok..." I responded softly. He brought me home, and Daddy told me to go to my room.

I closed the door and started working on my project. It was a little machine that I was making for Daddy. Maybe he would be nicer to me if I proved to him that I could be more than he thought. I sighed, trying to focus. I didn't bother eating that day. I just continued working.

The next day, after a huge blow up with my father, I stormed to her room, rubbing the red mark on my face. "I'm not stupid. I'm smart enough, and I'll prove it." I grumbled, grabbing my backpack and stuffing some possessions into it. I stood up. "I'll prove it to you." I muttered. I waited until Daddy had gone to his room, then ran out of the house.

It felt strange being outside without him. It was like weight was lifted off my shoulders. I wandered off, "Am I.... Free?" I whispered softly, walking forward. I dropped my teddy bear, Dew, and stopped to pick him up. I quickly brushed the grit off him and smiled.

I didn't even realize I was in the road.

I didn't even see the truck.

And I almost didn't feel the pain.

Everything went black.

Then white.

And then I was in an apartment. It was grimy and old, and there was no one there. I looked around in confusion, unaware of what to do. I rubbed my eyes and felt something sticky. I looked at my hand.

It was blood.

But it didn't hurt.

I just didn't understand. So I just sat there in confusion. Then, two girls came in with a board of some kind.

Gun's POV

After Cherry finished, I didn't even chance the thought of leaving her there. "I'm Gun, and this is Bebe. Aaaaaand, you're coming with us!" I said, going over to the little girl. Cherry smiled. "M'kay then!" She chirped, grabbing her backpack and teddy bear. She held my hand. It seemed she could become physical too. I smiled at her, and Bebe took out a purple glass shard that Mama had given us. We went back to The Home Dimension. As we were walking to The Home, a strange creature approached us, brushing up against Cherry's leg.

It was a fluffy, white, fox-like creature, with a black moon shape on its head, black ears, and black paws. Cherry smiled at it, "Hi there!" She greeted it. The creature snuggled her leg, and Cherry picked it up. "This iiiis... Mine now!" She yipped. I blinked a few times in confusion. "Alright then." Bebe said, shrugging.

The went back to The Home, and Mama happily took the little girl and her new pet in. Cherry got a room, which was a big blue room with brown, wooden floors. It had a tree growing in the middle of it, which had grown to be HUGE. Cherry seemed elated to see it. It already had a wardrobe, which Cherry filled with her cloths, and a small bed, where Cherry put her teddy bear. The room didn't have a bed, so we asked where she wanted to sleep. She simply pointed to the branches of the tree. She also practically claimed a lab-like room. She seemed to be very smart for her age, and loved doing little experiments. She seemed like she finally had a true home.

"So, what are you going to name him?" I asked, as Cherry gently pet the fox creature. He suddenly leapt into the air and bounced around, like it had springs in his legs. Cherry smiled brightly. "Bungee."
