To Heal or to Kill a Sanegiyuu Story

Chapter 17

Giyuu's POV
He kept trying to ask us questions though. Like, ‘where are you two from?’, ‘are you guys friends or..?’, ‘who are you guys?’. We each took turns lying and making up stuff. My new name is Mizu, which means water. (or so google says). Sanemi said his real name because the kingdom would be after ‘Doctor Kaze’. We drove on for days, stopping at night and sleeping and then continuing more. He wouldn’t continue driving at night, we wished he would though. We drove for a week long and he said that was as far as he was willing to go. It was farther than we thought he would go.
Once we were as far as he would take us, he stopped the car. He got out and then we did and he gave us each a handshake. He is definitely different from what I am used to but I won’t forget him.

“Maybe one day we'll meet again. If we do, let’s meet fabulously!”

I nodded and Sanemi rolled his eyes and chuckled a little bit. I handed over the small jewels I had and he smiled. He then got back into his car and drove back to wherever he lives. We then looked around the town that he took us to. We are now a week and a half away from the palace. It made me more comfortable here but it still wouldn’t be a bad idea to go even farther.
While we drove with that tall white haired man, he fed us dinner each night so we were fine. Sanemi offered for us to continue running and maybe one more ride, and then some more running. After all that we can settle down, and try to live out our lives. I agreed, I had no better ideas. We started running again and we made it to the next town that was a bit far. It was getting dark out so we had to hurry to find someone to drive us. After an hour or so we found a man who doesn’t drive but his wife does. They let us go with them and they were going a bit far from here.
We actually found out their names, unlike the last man who drove us. This couple’s names were Mr. and Mrs. Ubuyashiki. I told them my fake name and Sanemi introduced himself too. They seemed nice, Mr. Ubuyashiki had a very calming and mysterious voice. Even Sanemi was more calm and not so loud or cranky.
They drove throughout the night because they said they were running late for a family event. I didn’t press or care so I fell asleep. I slowly woke up, my eyes were taking a little bit to adjust to the light. Then I realized my head was on Sanemi’s shoulder. I had to calm myself down and then I got off his shoulder, he was still asleep. I looked forward and Mr. Ubuyashiki turned around facing us.

“So how long have you been dating?”

“We aren’t dating-”

I then saw Sanemi start to wake up and I kept quiet. I didn’t know what to say, I am not much of a talker. I looked down at my lap, I didn’t dare to look up for a while. I didn’t want to make any awkward eye contact. Things were really quiet for the rest of the car ride, which was about five more hours. It was now almost around dinner time and we said goodbye to them. We already decided earlier that we would run again and then settle down, so we just started running. Even though it was going to get dark soon.
We ran and ran, not as fast as we had been though. We made it two towns farther, we should be about two or three weeks away from the palace. It was dark out now and we stopped in a diner-hotel place. It looked like it was dark though. The diner was already closed but the hotel should be open, the hotel part was above the diner part.
Sanemi checked the door and it wasn’t locked so we walked in. It was a bit warmer here than outside. We went up to the counter and rang the little bell, a woman came down the stairs next to the counter and went behind it.

“How many I help you two? You want a room, right? Since the diner is closed right now.”

This woman had green and pink hair, she also seemed very energetic. Then a man came down the stairs and stood by her. He had a mask on and seemed like a quiet guy. He also had two different eye colors. I noticed they were both wearing rings, so they are married. Sanemi talked with them for a bit. Their names were Mitsuri and Obanai. They both run the diner and hotel together and we got a room.
It wasn’t a big one, it only had one bed. We didn’t really care, just somewhere to live until we find a place. Mitsuri showed us to our room, which I am glad for. I don’t think Obanai likes me at all, but I didn’t really care for him either. We got a card key for the room and went in. Sanemi and I looked around, it was small and very simple.
A bed, bathroom and a TV with two nightstands one on each side of the bed. I haven’t really ever seen a TV or used one. I picked up the remote and hit the power button. The TV started up with life and it was showing some people on the screen. I was a bit shocked at first and tried to figure out how to work it. Sanemi scoffed and took it out of my hands and hit me on the head with it.

“Fucking idiot, I didn’t have a TV but I know how to work one. Do I need to teach you how to be a normal person!?”

I kept quiet, nothing I had to say would be needed. He scoffed again and rolled his eyes. He then sat on the bed and patted the bed right next to him. I walked over and sat down next to him. He then started to show me how to work the remote, in his own way with insults and curse words every now and then.
