The next day, I came up with a plan.

I followed the tall girl after school. She was asked by the cheerleading coach to get her a box of brand new pom poms from the office.

Alyssa's tight wand curled ponytail with a glitter covered dark green ribbon on top of the stairs holding a giant box.
I looked up from my position and made sure there was no camera directly above us.

I shoved her down the stairs and watched her trip, scream and then face plants at the bottom on top of the stairs.

She doesn't make a sound once she reaches the bottom and I assume she hit her head too hard and lost consciousness.

I smile to myself and remove my hoodie and sweatpants. I folded them and shoved them in my bag. I pulled off my bonnet and fluffed up my curls.

I fixed my collar, and walked through the basement to the front entrance of the school, greeting the security guard as I left.

Here's the thing about being sneaky, you always want to hide in plain sight.

I took the next bus to work and clocked in knowing that Rema would feel sorry for me and encourage the HR later to adjust my hours when I asked, especially when I told her I missed the bus.

Now I have an alibi.

I'm not a coward, I've never had to push unaware bitches down the stairs. But Alyssa is a weak pathetic troll and I'd probably completely batter her in a fight. the people in this school wouldn't appreciate a good fight and the cops would be on my ass. So, I had to do it this way.

Hopefully she's dead.

I picked up Vienna's phone call during my break.
I opened a bag of trail mix as she began speaking frantically.

"Hey, sorry, I can't hang out tonight. Alyssa fell down the stairs and she's at the hospital and her parents aren't in town and I just have to go to her." Vienna ranted into the phone until she ran out of breath. She was canceling the 2 hour study date we scheduled earlier in the day, before I pushed her friend down the stairs.

"Oh my god! Is she okay?"
I hope she cracked her skull.

"I don't know, I haven't been there yet but Nia said they said it was a fracture on her left leg. She won't be able to walk on her own for a while."

"Damn.. can I come with? I just wanna make sure she's okay."

"Aren't you at work?" Vienna asked, "I can take off." I say immediately.

It'll give me a chance to smuggle her with a pillow.
"No no, it's alright, I'll tell her you were concerned about her. Uh, I started making notes, I don't know how coherent they are, but you can stop by my house and get the notes if you need them. If you have any notes for chemistry, I'd really appreciate it."

"I'll see if I do, I'll drop it."

"Okay." There's this distant sadness in her voice. She must really be worried about Alyssa.

Good, hopefully she'll leave me alone for once.

"I really hope she's okay." I added.
"Yeah me too... let's talk later."
"Okay."

The line goes dead and I dig into my bag of trail mix and pick out a cashew. I like to eat the nuts first and then the pretzels and m&ms last.

Rema drops me at home.

Susan and my father are sitting on two separate couches both looking at the television but not seeing much. There's tension in the room and I know I'm the cause.
