𝕸𝖊𝖑 𝖓𝖊𝖊𝖉𝖊𝖉 𝖈𝖔𝖋𝖋𝖊𝖊, desperately. The Parker girl swayed on her feet, moments away from falling asleep standing, before she cursed whatever stupid part of her that was stuck on the Original Hybrid because it had refused to allow the siphoner a moment of solace for her to fall asleep without Niklaus Mikaelson popping into her head.

The girl rubbed her fingers against her temples, a yawn escaping her mouth as she quietly closed the front door to her house so as to not wake her younger brother who'd very likely still be sleeping. She pulled on the sweater belonging to Caroline that she'd borrowed from the blonde for the night before trudging her way into the kitchen, for her coffee.

But to her surprise, an unfamiliar male stood over her coffee pot, glaring heatedly at the object, much to her confusion. She stopped, pursing her lips so as to not start laughing at the irritated expression on the man's face as he poked the pot.

"Hello?" The man spun around, coming face to face with Mel, and raised an eyebrow at the woman, seeing as he didn't recall anyone else being in the house.

The stranger had a grin on his lips and extended his hand. "Kol Mikaelson."

She hesitantly placed her hand in his to shake, only for the brunette to bring her palm to his lips, pressing a light kiss. "Melinoe Parker, most call me Mel."

"I don't happen to be most, darling." He said cockily, dropping her hand.

The siphoner smiled, "Of course not. The cockiness would be a dead giveaway if not for your last name. I'd say you're younger than Nik given the intensity of said cockiness."

Kol raised a brow at the nickname used for his older brother. Typically, Niklaus didn't allow anyone other than his family to use the term. "I wasn't aware Niklaus was able to make friends, especially one as beautiful as yourself."

"I wouldn't necessarily consider us friends," Mel mumbled awkwardly, not really knowing how to define her relationship with the hybrid.

"Oh?"

"More like... acquaintances by definition. I mean, friends are defined as people with mutual bonds of affection for one another, exclusive to sexual and family relations, of course, but there's also the fact that affection can be interpreted in two separate manners, either a gentle feeling of fondness or liking or a deeper one, which in my opinion makes more sense as acquaintances have more minute knowledge about one another that could either develop or be kept at a steady pace depending on the individuals, and naturally, to have that understanding of one another, no matter how small, would require a general fondness or enjoyment to their company, though I don't really think that I could label our time together that enjoyable, considering he did threaten to kill my friend and brother, somewhat kidnap me, then use his sire-bond on my friend's boyfriend to have him bite her so she could be used as leverage, but then again he did apologize, help save Coda and gave me that dress, and it was a really pretty dress." She rambled, rubbing her sleeved hand behind her neck awkwardly, not knowing how to stop as she shuffled on her feet while Kol watched and listened to her prattle, amused. "All in all―"
