Percy's POV:
"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?"
Annabeth and I stare at each other for only a half of a second before she blurts out, "That sounded a whole lot like Calypso." Without much thought I start to question "But why would she scre-"
And in that moment we both realize the horrible truth. The only reason Calypso would've created a noise that powerful is if something had happened to...."LEO," we whisper together, as we drag Drew to her feet and start to sprint towards the house.
Drew's POV:
Stupid Percy and his stupid girlfriend. They just had prove once again how majestic and heroic they are! I dressed up in this hideous outfit, I hid in those scratchy, smelly trees, I even wore hiking boots! Hiking boots! And all for what? I spent months trying to figure out when Couple Impossible would get back. I had everything ready! And do you know what happened? Chivalry! I thought it was supposed to be dead! But no! It just had to come crawling out of it's grave in the one moment when everything was perfect. Hmmph.
My whole plan was working out, it was going to work, but then at the exact moment i fired my arrow, that stupid mechanic boy stepped in the way, my arrow hitting him instead of the target! Did he really have to be a gentleman and usher that wench out of the room? Really? Because I can tell you, for everything I was planned for today, for everything I prepared, I was not prepared for that.
Annabeth's POV:I can't believe our luck. First, one of our best friends comes back after months of him mysteriously vanishing, than we finally get to meet the infamous Calypso, than Leo gets shot with an arrow, than we find out the shooter is one of our old fellow camp-mates, than we hear a scream that could only mean one thing. Well, at least our weekends are never boring.
Percy and I are flat out sprinting towards the house. I didn't realize how far into the woods we had ran, but now having to make the return trip lugging a very unwilling participant behind us....it sure does make the run seem longer.
The house is now in sight. I let go of Drew-the-traitor and leave her to Percy while I chase the echo of the lingering scream.Calypso's POV
I see Annabeth charge through the back door. "Annabeth, I don't know what happened. I removed the arrow and I used my healing magic on Leo, but it didn't work! I don't know why. It has never failed me before! As I cleaned some blood away I saw the wound had just gotten worse! Look!"
I pointed at the wound and immediately Annabeth knelt down beside Leo's shaking form. "Is....is he going to-, tell me he is going to make it." I beg. I cannot lose him.
"Are you saying the wound only got worse after you used your magic on him, Calypso?" Annabeth asked.
"Oh no. What have I done?"Percy's POV:
I pull Drew into the house in time to hear Calypso gasp "Oh no. What have I done?"
Annabeth asked again in a much brisker tone, "Calypso, did the wound only get worse after you used your magic? Yes or no? Leo doesn't have much time and we have to act fast. Yes or no"?
"Y-yes" Calypso chokes out.
"Ok, well that's something. Help me move him onto the table."
When there was no reply or no start to bend down, Annabeth and I both glance at Calypso. She is standing straight-legged, scared stiff, and blank faced. Yeah, there is no way we can count on her to be quick or responding right now. She is in complete and utter shock.I push Drew into Calypso's arms and tell her "Hold her tight and don't let go!" and luckily, that is exactly what she did.
Annabeth and I quickly moved Leo up onto the table. I look at her. "Okay, what do you need now Wise-girl?" The look Annabeth gave me was one of hopelessness. "I don't know. I've never seen anything like this before. We need more information." She steeled her composure, walked over to Drew and growled more than said, "The only way a injury can look like that is if poison is involved. Now you are going to tell me what you dipped that arrow in and you are going to me now.
She slammed her hand on the table. Drew started to look scared. Good.I put my hand on Annabeth's shoulder, she needs to calm down. Becoming blind with rage is not going to help.
"Look, I didn't mean to hit Leo. It was his own fault that he got in the way. And I can't tell you what was on the arrow, I don't even know." Drew spit the words out like they were knifes she was mentally flinging at each of us.
"Wait, hold up. If you weren't trying to shoot Leo, who was your target? Why did you try to kill anyone in the first place? That is so not like you Drew!" I am almost yelling at this point.
Drew laughs dryly. "Like you know anything about me. And I'm not telling you anything."
Drew's POV:
"And I'm not telling you anything."
Did I really just say that? Am I really going to let Leo die?
It's just so annoying! The plan would have worked out so perfectly! I had spent month and months tracking down the perfect, the ONLY poison that would kill that freak. It had the power to reverse whatever magic voodoo it was that kept her from never aging, from never dying.
As soon as she stepped in front of the window, I would shoot my arrow and immediately start running to my getaway car. I wouldn't have to worry about whether or not my shot was a killing blow, because as long as the arrow head made the tiniest cut, her self-healing magic would start to flow throughout her entire body.
And when her blood began to flow faster and faster, it would carry the poison to more of her blood stream. And the more contact the poison has with the magic properties in the blood cells....well, the faster the poison will make the very thing that saves her become the thing that kills her.

Well, I hope that chapter was interesting! And let me know if Drew's plan made any sense or whether I was being too cryptic! As always, let me know what you thought of the chapter (I love feedback, positive and negative) and I will be updating soon! -Author
