A few days ago, I had hope of getting home. A few days ago, I also trusted that Darien would be able to fix the transporter in a matter of hours. But, a few days ago, I was quite wrong. Now I am awaiting the time that Darien fixes the transport and I get to go home. Agh, home. A place I really wish I was at.
I walk into the, now familiar, hallway, heading straight for the stairs. Darien has a lab downstairs, as well, and that's where I'm headed now. I look down at the item in my hand, it was that converter thingy he had used to drain my phone's battery life. Sighing, I push open the door to the lab and walk in.
"Quickly, now!" Darien was hovered over a messy table, holding his hand out for me to give me the converter. I quickly handed it to him. "This should help give me enough energy to make the transport work for about..." He trailed off, looking thoughtful, "two more trips, I'd say."
"So...enough for me to return home then bring you more energy." I sighed, still not understanding why the heck he won't just come with me.
"Yes, exactly that."
"Look...I have a better idea. Instead of making weapons with the energy I bring, why not make a scanner? So you can see if there are actual life forms aside from the Sakti. If there are, you stay and fight, if not, you come to my planet." I suggested, leaning against the table, arms crossed and eyes focused on the messy scientist.
He sighed deeply, turning to me. "I won't be able to fit in on an entirely different world, Cassie."
"You don't know until you try." I replied, smirking.
"I suppose that is correct. Also, I just got the battery working!" He smiles widely, holding up the strangely shaped box he had been working on for the past few days.
"Finally!" I fist pumped.

Soon we were upstairs, Darien setting everything up.
"Stand there." He directs me to the transport stand.
"Please work..." I whisper, crossing my fingers, when suddenly I feel very light headed. I fall to the ground, but instead of feeling the hard concrete, I feel soft carpeting. "I'm home!?" I fist pump, smiling widely.
"Cassie?" I turn to see Kara standing in my hallway. Her eyes were wide and her lips growing into a smile. Before I could say anything, she ran into my arms, hugging me tightly.
"Where've you been?" She asked, eyes wide."Um, how long have I been gone?" I raise an eyebrow. I know I've probably been gone for the few days I was in Darien's world...but I was kind of hoping that the times would be different. Like it was only an hour or so here...
"Three days!!" Kara answers, exasperation in her tone. I suppose I was wrong. My lips form into a small "o" and I walk towards the door.
"Where are mom and dad?"
"Mom's downstairs, but dad's been out looking for you with the police." Crap. Stupid transport! This is all because I chose to help Darien! Agh, worst decision ever.
"Kara? Is someone upstairs with you?" I hear my mom walking up the stairs. At this point, I'm standing in the hallway. So, when she reaches the top, she freezes.
"Cassie?" Her eyes are wide with shock and joy.
"Mom." I smile widely and soon feel mom's arms wrapping around me.
"Where've you been!?"
"I do t think you'd believe me if I told you." I sigh, glancing back at the poster in my room.
