Prologue
---
It all started on a really cold Saturday night, when Calum was walking home from work eating sour patch kids. He only ate the blue and red ones though because everything else tasted weird. Calum worked as a waiter for the local restaurant. He liked working there except there was this strange girl that always flirted with him - Thalia Biddings, a waitress.
Her eyes were almost pitch black causing you to not see her pupils, and very long blonde hair. Thalia had anger issues too, anyone that didn't do what she wanted, she had a fit. One time, Calum's friend named John bumped into Thalia when she was carrying food. Thalia was so pissed that she threw the food on John, and then proceeded to choke him until she was restrained.
John didn't come to work after that incident, and no one saw him since. His missing files are hung up every where in town.
Anyway, Calum was just walking to his house. It was snowing, plus he was tired and annoyed. Calum didn't want to be bothered.
When Calum got to his house there were two people on the door step. It looked like they were going at it and this did not improve Calum's grump mood.
Calum waked straight up to steps and yet neither the girl or boy saw him.
"Hey! Do you mind having 'fun' somewhere else? People actually live here ya know!"
Startled, the girl turned around and Calum almost had a heart attack. It wasn't because of the what just happened, but he recognized the girl as Thalia Biddings. Calum's mind was racing, and his only thought was "what the fuck."
You see, it really was Thalia - the same long blonde hair, facial structures, and even wearing the restaurant uniform.
What really scared the shit out of Calum was the blood dripping out of her mouth from fangs, fully black eyes, and she had the veins under her eyes a dark color. Thalia was definitely some sort of monster.
Thalia dropped the boy on the ground, Calum only now seeing the two bloody marks in his neck. She looked at him and her eyes turned back to normal but everything else was the same.
He dropped his sour patch kids.
"Calum, you better go."
"What the fuck are you doing? Did you just kill him?! What are-"
"Calum, just go. You need to go."
Calum wasn't listening.
"No! What are you and what the fuck just happened?"
Thalia's eyes went back to all black and she moved so quickly she was a blur. She tackled Calum against the apartment wall and got him in a chokehold. Thalia spoke to him in such a serious voice Calum shivered.
"Calum look me in the eyes,"
He looked at her. Thalia's eyes seriously creeped him out.
"I think you know what I am, but you can't know that."
Calum struggled to breathe under her tightening grip. While he looked into Thalia's eyes, he felt hypnotized. Calum realized they were scarier up close.
"Calum Thomas Hood, you will forget what ever happened this night. You will think you went to a party and had too much to drink. Now sleep."
Calum's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he passed out, falling into the monster's arms. Thalia searched his pockets to find his apartment key. When she found it, she unlocked Calum's door and dragged him onto his couch. Thalia also grabbed his phone and put her number in it. Wow, Calum really needs a password.
Thalia also found a pen and paper on the coffee table and decided to leave him a note.
"Hey Calum,
You went to party tonight and got really drunk. You called me, so I came to pick you up. I also put you on the couch to sleep. ;-)
Love,
Thalia"
