chapter two → doesn't feel right

"knowing what you did my heart doesn't feel right"

---

Calum was luckily not bothered by Thalia for the rest of the day, and he still had that stupid headache. All he wanted to do was lay down and sleep for the rest of his life.

Calum still also felt weird. Like the weird that happens after something bad happens and you can't shake off what you saw. That kind of weird. It was as if he felt traumatized, but nothing horrible or scarring ever happened to Calum in the past year.

Oh well.

He needed to relax. On his work break, Cal called Luke and asked if he could come over after work to hang out. Luke agreed and Calum was then yelled by his boss to get back to work.

Calum was in the "Ugh, work. Why can't I be millionaire?" Mood. His shift went by slowly, but it was soon done.

---

Cal walked up the front steps to Luke's place, and opened up the door. He doesn't need to knock 'cause he practically lives there anyway. Walking into the kitchen, Calum shouted,

"Sup bitch? How's life?"

What he did not expect to see was Luke and a boy with curly blond hair getting it on.

"What the fuck?"

Luke and the dude broke away from their little make-out session on the table and looked at Calum with surprised eyes.

"Um Luke, you know we freaking eat there you know? That's disgusting! Can you do it somewhere else at least?"

Luke was still surprised but he managed to stutter out some excuse about forgetting Calum was coming and he was sorry.

"It's okay. And if you like guys I'm fine with that - just please don't do things on the table."

"Yeah, um, thanks. Sorry 'bout that, I forgot when your shift ended."

"Luke it's fine, who's your friend?"

Luke and the boy both looked at each other and blushed when Calum wiggled his eyebrows. The curly-headed boy got off the table and shook hands with Cal.

"I'm Ashton Irwin, I'm your friends m-"

"Ash is my boyfriend."

Luke interrupted and shot a warning glare to Ash's direction, who nodded in response.

"Um ok, nice to meet you Ashton."

"Likewise."

Cal turned to Luke and spoke,

"I'm gonna head home, I have a killer headache and I wanted to just chat with you,"

Luke had a guilty look on his face.

"But we can do that another time, so don't worry. Go back to having fun with your boyfriend."

Calum smiled.

"See ya."

"See ya later Cal."

---

As soon as Calum left, he couldn't help but feel lonely. He had only come to Luke's to talk about the flashes, which reminded him of a vampire, because Luke lies and probably knew what they were. Cal only had one other friend, Michael, who lived about 2 hours from his apartment.

He texted his sister Mali-koa,

Cal: hey do u know if there's any parties 2nite? I'm in a partying mood.. If not I'll go to the bar.

Ok, maybe he lied. He wasn't in a partying mood but Cal definitely felt he needed some beer.

Mali: yeah, my friend Stacy is having one tonight at 10:00 I'm pretty sure u can come

Cal: k, I'll be there at 11. bye

Mali: bye felicia

Who the hell's felicia? Whatever, he'll ask Mali later.

---

Until 11 o'clock, Calum watched The Vampire Diaries on netflix and fanboyed over Nina Dobrev.

When it was time to go, he quickly fixed his hair and put a clean red flannel over his black shirt. It was the only color he had on besides the red. Oh well.

As soon as Calum pulled up to the address of the house Mali gave him, he knew that this would be a great party. Even though the host basically lived in the middle of nowhere, tons of cars were parked in the driveway. He could hear the music blaring and lights, and even some people talking.

Calum's worries were completely forgotten as he took his first bottle of beer.
