The Balance.
River.
I know what had happened was supposed to happen, it was tradition and archaic law but I didn't agree with it, we were more civilized, we could solve matters like these through talking, no one needed to die just to prove they were the better person, we were all children of the goddess. Everyone watched as I looked down on all of them, the massacre that had happened and the uproar, it wasn't meant to be like this, I had to change it. I looked to Riley, I knew he felt what I felt as my tears fell. He stood up from where he was watching and jumped off the ledge shocking everyone, Kirk, Brent, Clarke, Zaya and Chad all followed, I couldn't hear what he instructed the others before he made his way to Julian's challenger.
"Alpha." He acknowledged as I waved my hands, my magic spread out beneath me and lifted all those who had wanted to attack Julian and put them back above the arena, Riley took the torn heart and tossed it into the air, it didn't fall as I used my magic to catch it and envelope it in a green crystal that began drawing in nature energy, as for the body Riley lifted it up, behind him Kirk had the body of Clarke's challenger, along with Brent helping the lycan he had fought, Riley looked to me and nodded. "Lavitas dracul torec." I waved my hand whispering the spell that levitated all of them and whisked them away to the house, I would soon follow but we had to finish the ceremony.
"Despite all that has happened, we cannot disregard that he won his challenge, therefore, Julian my son, you are rightfully and worthy of being alpha of this pack, it is by your strength that we will be guided and it is by your mate's love and just heart that we will be nurtured and protected." Alpha Khan exclaimed as he cut his palm open, as did Julian, when their hands connected we all felt the power shift, even I felt power pour into me as I floated down next to my mate. "Your alpha, and luna." Alpha Khan announced as everyone cheered, it was the happiest moment of Julian's life, I could feel his happiness leak in through our bond, it was something I truly wouldn't ever forget.
"Our first proclamation is this, this arena will not be used as a place of death and torture, it is a sacred place where the goddess blesses us all and we have continuously defiled it with death, but now, no more, nolonger shall it happen, everyone is welcome to come here to seek blessings as this is a sacred place, I am truly sorry to those who've been hurt by traditions we've held thus far, as we enter this new age, we shall try change that, so many of these traditions shall be abolished because lets face it, what have they brought except bitterness and heartache to a lot of us, enough, we cannot live our lives like this, my mate and I refuse to, if anyone feels that this is not the way you want to live, you're free to leave the pack in the next twenty four hours." I announced to the whole pack, as I turned to Julian. "I'm sorry I let you go through with this, you shouldn't be responsible for someone's death, a pack member who you've known for a long time." I exclaimed and he hugged me without saying anything.
Warm tears fell onto my shoulder. "Oh Julian." I whispered hugging him even tighter. "Thank you." He responded and I nodded. "I love you." I added as one lycan holwed followed by a lot more, everyone made their way back to their homes as Julian and I made our way back to ours. "I see you've gotten stronger." I spoke nudging him and he chuckled. "Only thanks to you and Riley." He replied holding me closer to his warmth. We reached the house, it was unusually silent, that was because everyone was setting up just beyond the house, a small clearing I had made with my brother's help, it was comfortable enough and was the perfect place to have outdoor dinners, parties or picnics. "Where is everyone?" Julian asks as I led him to the basement where Riley and Chad were. "Animas torret helio." I heard Chad cast the healing spell on the injured lycan from Brent's fight.
"Hey guys, what's going on?" Julian asked as he looked to the man whose heart he tore out laid out on a steel table, his body was completely healed just missing it's heart. "River is going to revive them." Riley replied as my mate looked to me in shock. "You—you can do that?" He questions confused by the possibility of it. "I'm the witch of fate, my flame draws from a place of clarity or purity, so is my magic, there are spells I can't perform because my magic isn't attuned to it but I have a cousin, his name is Adrian, his magic is something on a whole other level, he's taught me more about magic than anyone else, and he's the one who taught me revival spells, I've gotten to a point where I can confidently say, I've mastered them." I explained and he seemed to drift off.
"Julian are you alright?" I ask placing my hand on his incredibly large chest. "Yes, yes I'm fine, go on." He replied but I knew he wasn't fine, I also knew not to push, he would tell me in his own time. "I healed their bodies perfectly, but Clarke did a number on his opponent so I had to put him in a healing pod aswell." Chad explained as I finished setting up the spell I would be performing. I breathed in deep as I focused myself. "Incendia." I cast the spell and all the candles in the room ignited. "Goddess of our creation I beseech you, mother Gaia your child calls upon you, give me strength to right a wrong, foe as friend, grant me thy power to lead his soul back: Generis phetina egnus et reverum mortem tribam." I cast the spell as the heart in the green crystal appeared, it glowed a beautiful green as I placed it back in its body and just as I did, a powerful heartbeat began drumming.
Riley brought over the other dead lycan as I allowed the spell to take hold and white smoke poured from my mouth, it rolled out in pure white waves and all of it was sucked into the body. "Breath." I spoke forcefully and both lycans sat up gasping for air, they looked around stunned by what had happened, they had once been dead, it was understandable to be shocked. "How?" One of them spoke looking around the room. "That's not important, all that matters is you're back with the living, live your lives fully, cherish the second chance." I told them both as I nodded to Chad and Riley, they could handle it from there. "You are simply amazing." Julian complimented as he helped me sit down in the lounge. "Thank you my love." I replied caressing his cheek.
"Come with me." I told him after sufficiently resting and basking in his warmth, Riley had signalled that everything was finally ready. "Where are we going?" He demanded as I dragged him toward the backyard. "Babe you could just tell me you wanna get naughty in the woods, I'd come easily." He teased and I groaned, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who could understand the implications of that statement. "No you horny alpha, its a—" I paused. "Surprise!" Everyone yelled making the alpha jump. "What the hell!" He shrieked as everyone burst out laughing, I just facepalmed, way to kill your masculinity babe. "Happy birthday babe." I finally said it as he settled down and I'm sure that was the second time I saw the brightest smile on his face, I'm glad I could make him that happy.
