Many make it into this world,
But no one makes it out alive,
We all are born,
We all do live,
And we all will someday die.
And in that strip of living,
Through the laughter and the tears,
We learn and grow and all evolve
And change throughout the years.
And some of us pursue the noble,
Chasing peace and hope through every hour,
Some of us pursue the vain,
Chasing greed and lust and total power.
And some of us stand quietly near,
Observing silently, a patient ear,
Some of us are loud and bold,
A dash of ruby in a sea of gold.
Some of us are diamonds,
Some of us are coal,
Some of us will live in truth
Some of us can only lie,
Only some of us will truly succeed,
But all of us will die.
