Nora and Gemma Origins (Sonic OC Part 1)

Chapter 1

A/N Just so you guys know this story is BASED on the comics, so its not entirely accurate. P.S Xuli's name is pronouced Zoo-ley.

(Gemma's POV)

The cold doesn't stop in my world. Everyone is used to it, except the foreigners from other zones. Like my best friend Xuli, she despises this endless winter. My name's Gemma, Gemma the Snow Lynx which means gem or jewel in Italian. That's not my real name though. My real name is Soohyun, which is pretty hard for people to pronounce because it's a Korean name. I have no idea why my parents named me Gemma, but they do everything for a reason so I guess I'll find out sometime.

"What does that mean?" Xuli says, talking about the current colors of my eyes. I don't respond. "Are you even listening?" She asks. "Shh! Did you feel that?" "...No??? Was there something to feel?" I roll my eyes at my clueless friend. "It was a disturbance in the emotional energy nearby." I explain for the thousandth time. "Oh...Sehun! Get it? Haha, because you totally have a crush on him!" "Seriously, the Oh Sehun joke is getting so old." I reply. "Come on, lighten up Soo!" I look at her and sigh "I need to go home Xuli." I pick up my purse of the park bench and say goodbye to Xuli.

As I walk home I pass by the cafe and see August, my crush since preschool. I stare at him as I pass by but he turns and looks at me then waves, I noticeably blush. I wave back at him then quickly walk away.
