Chapter 15

(Gemma's POV)

"You came!" "Yep, didn't expect to see you here though." "So you didn't come for me?" "No, not really." There is a moment of silence and we both laugh. "You know Mom, I don't know what I would do without you." "Well, of course!" "No, I'm serious Mom! I would be so depressed and scared if you weren't here!" "Aww...I know. Haha just kidding. You know I wouldn't be able to survive without my child!" She manages to wrap her arms around me and hug me.

"Why are your eyes blue?" "Are they? Probably just because I'm kinda losing hope." I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my cheek. I soon realize that my Mother just slapped me. "What was that for?!" "You know that we can't lose hope! Hope is what keeps us alive! Hope saves us, it keeps us out of danger!" "Well it didn't work for Dad, did it?!" I instantly regret what I just said. I feel the pain and sadness that I have caused. "I-I'm sorry...I just..." She cuts me off with her hand limply reaching for mine. "No, you were right. But you know what? He hasn't run out of it. His hope is you, Soohyun, and I know you can save him. Have some self-confidence! I know you can do it!" "Thank you, Mom. All I can do is thank you."

My dream is so realistic. Me and my Mom are stuck in the same place we are at right now. The walls start cracking, the floor starts rumbling, and the ceiling starts crumbling. I soon realize...it isn't a dream! I jump to my feet, sprint over to my Mom, cover over her and take my emerald out just as the ceiling starts falling onto us. "CHAOS CONTROL!"

We are soon safe and sound in a field of flowers...Or is it just me?

I travel back to Eggman's place and when I get there, I am able to see inside the building. The earthquake has already stopped and I run into our cell. I don't see her. No, this can't happen, this isn't a movie! Where is my Mother! WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS! I breakdown and cry. I put her lifeless body in my lap and sing to her the song she used to sing to me when I cried. My tears run down my face and into my mouth as I sing. I cover my mouth and cry into my hand. I'm done with this. I can't see her anymore. I am about to teleport away, but as I look up from my Mom, I see that both of my eyes are the same color. Cyan, the color of my sadness. My eyes have never had the same color before. I look one last time at my Mom, and then I teleport away. Anywhere but here.
