Nora and Gemma Origins (Sonic OC Part 1)

Chapter 22

(Kun Qi's POV)

I was told to save some girl named Gemma today. I don't know her, but I just like helping other people out so I decided to obey him. As I'm walking through I don't know where, I see the girl I'm supposed to save. Shards of ice hit her, but they shatter when they hit her skin. Why am I supposed to save her? She seems just fine by herself. As I start walking away, I feel small vibrations in the earth. I'm a terrakinetic. I can manipulate, feel, and turn into materials from the earth. I can also teleport through earth or earth-like materials. I turn back around and see that the robot's weapons have changed to gigantic flame throwers. My eyes grow a little bigger and I hear the high-pitched sound of increasing heat inside the flamethrowers. I quickly teleport over to her and trap us both in a dome of fire-retardant glass. I turn around and see her beautiful multi-colored eyes. I almost stumble, but I manage to keep my balance. I sit down and say "I'm Kun Qi, but you can call me Kai."

I agree to come with them because they seem like pretty nice people. One butterfly even offers to let me sit in the plane. A pink hedgehog tells me to sit next to Gemma and I almost refuse because I'm kinda shy, but I feel like that would sound rude. "Ok. I'm Kai, by the way." "Nice to meet you Kai! I'm Amy." She says. I hesitantly sit next to Gemma and I think I would be blushing if I actually could. She says, "Thanks for saving me." "No problem!" I respond. I almost don't even want to talk to her, I feel like my voice will crack. Wait, why am I so nervous anyway? I just met her!

When we get to their place, nobody tells me where my room is so I just say goodnight and sleep on the couch. I dream about myself in a quiet pine forest when my friends come down from the trees and they seem...afraid? I can read them easily because I have felt how they feel many times before. They tell me that I'm going to have to be sent to another planet. I reject the thought because I am the only one with an ability on my planet. I could keep them safe! This can't be real. I think I understand it now. They are afraid of me. "Why?" "Because you are too strong, you are a threat to us." "No, no I'm not! I can help you guys! I can keep you safe." "I'm sorry." They say. Then I fall into a pit of darkness.

I wake up sweating and a single hot tear is streaming from my face. I get up and go to the kitchen to make something to calm me down. I get the carrots and some celery and cut them up. I also get some chicken out of the freezer and thaw it out. As I wait for that, I get a big pot out, put water in it, and let it boil. After a while, the chicken is ready and I put it in the pot. I pour the vegetables in the pot and let the whole thing cook.

When the chicken soup is done, I hear noises in one of the rooms upstairs. I close my hand and hover it over the pot. I open my hand and some rosemary falls in the pot.

When I start eating, I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. I realize that it's Gemma. She must not see me because she just passes me and goes straight to the kitchen and gets some of the soup. She walks into the living room and she still doesn't see me! I'm right on the edge of the couch! I move my legs so she can sit down. I am confused. She eats some of the soup and I ask, "Do you like it?" She jumps to her feet and almost slaps me. I block her hand and just stare into her eyes. She looks at me and says, "Sorry, I didn't see you there." "It's ok." I say. "It's really good though. Where did you learn to cook?" She asks. "From my boss on my planet. He took me in since I didn't have a Mom." "Oh, I'm sorry. I just lost my Mom too." "I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe we can help each other with our emotions then?" "I hope so." She smiles at me and I smile back. We both go back to sleep after washing our dishes out.
