12.0 written chapter: what has to be done

no one pov

jungkook sighed, flopping back on his bed, mind a mess.

he had gone to the company building 2 days ago and talked with his pr team. they told him it wasnt much of a big deal, but could turn into something big if they let the media get away with it.

they told jungkook he should stay in his pent house apartment for the time being, and try not to go out too much if not necessary. they didnt want to draw unnecessary attention.

his manager said he would call the idol today and tell him what the plan would be, as they decided to wait a few days to let the drama settle down a bit before making a statement.

jungkook just hated this whole mess. ontop of that, his mind kept bringing him back to his talk with namjoon. telling him how he should see taehyung.

jungkook didnt know if he could handle that.

he knew it was the right thing. i mean, they hadnt seen each other in 2 years, and obviously, they had changed a lot. hopefully grown as well.

but getting those flashbacks of seeing taehyung in the club, up on that stage, dancing for cheering people as they threw cash at him, jungkooks heart clenched. he didnt know why the sight was so agonizing. but it was.

when their eyes locked, jungkook had felt as if the whole world around him didnt exist, and he was just living a dream. he just couldnt stop thinking about it.

he hated how much that night made him think about taehyung, he couldnt get him out of his head.

more than usual.

i mean it wasnt like his entire career was based around writing love songs to the boy he loved, definitely not..

jungkooks thoughts were suddenly cut off when his phone rang.

flinching slightly, jungkook quickly pulled the device from his pant pocket, answering the call from his manager.

"hyung." jungkook started, not even letting the man get a word in.

"jungkook, calm down." the voice said through the phone, visualizing the idol waiting for him to speak with widened doe eyes.

"so, your pr team is gonna write a statement. but i need you to agree to what they're going to say." the man started. jungkook nodded to himself. "what... are they gonna say?" he asked, almost nervous.

"well, they will confirm you were at the club, as there are clear photos of you with namjoon and yoongi. but they will deny the allegations of you running out, because confirming that as well will cause absolute chaos." the man finished.

jungkook bit his lip. "but.. thats lying." jungkook muttered. he could hear his manager sigh through the phone.

"jungkook. you're an idol, lying is the only way to protect your image. especially when its from something that could expose your sexuality. we've had this conversation since the day you debuted. for the time being-" his manager spoke, but jungkook cut him off.

"for the time being, you have to hide your sexuality from the media. when you retire, or big hit thinks it wont destroy your image, you are free to tell everyone. yeah yeah, i know." jungkook huffed.

"hmm." his manager simply spoke. jungkook sighed, knowing he had to agree.

"so, jungkook, did you run out of A-STAR club after making eye contact with a male stripper?" his manager asked, having to such so he could hear jungkook deny.

"...no." jungkook spoke, staring down at the floor under his socked feet, feeling like total shit.

he heard the man hum. "thanks." he said simply, jungkook let out a quiet mumble. expecting the man to hang up, though was met with another question.

"who was the guy anyway? why did he make you flee the building in the first place?" jungkook chuckled at the question. Namjoon asked the same thing." he returned, almost bitter.

"so?" his manager asked. jungkook shrugged, fiddling with his shorts. "am i even allowed to tell you?" he asked, hearing the man chuckle heartedly.

"if you want. you dont have to of course, i was just curious. it also might be good to find the guy and apologize for causing all this drama. im sure hes not very excited about the whole thing. probably scared shitless if the media finds out his identity."

jungkooks eyes widened slightly. "t-they wont, right?" jungkook asked, feeling his fingers itch. "probably not, but theres a chance. especially because theres a public listing of every dancer at the club, because its so popular." his manager explained.

jungkooks ears rang. "public listing?" he asked, gulping. "yeah, like a page on their sight. so it would be easy to atleast find the guys photo. they dont disclose real names and stuff. but show the different strippers. some people are hella into this kind of thing." his manager joked.

jungkook nodded slowly.

"i guess... i could apologize to him..."

he whispered, barely even hearing himself. but it seemed he was loud enough for the phone to pick up his voice.

"you will? are you sure?" the man asked. jungkook bit his lower lip, to the point he could feel pain. "i.. could see him, i suppose."

what the hell was he doing? was he crazy? see taehyung again, what? would that go well? would taehyung agree? og goodness, what is he thinking??

"ok, great. we can get someone to contact the guy. if he agrees we can get you guys to meet up for a little for a quick apology i suppose." his manger thinks aloud.

jungkook nods slowly, heart pumping.

"anyway, i got to run, and inform your pr team while im at it. you have to stay cooped up in your house much longer. besides, you have a new album coming out in what like a month? the promotion starts next week. dont worry too much about this whole thing, it'll be way gone in the next few days once you make the first promotion announcement."

jungkook's nervous lips lifted into the slightest smile. he nodded. "y-yeah." he said, head spinning, thinking about seeing taehyung. mind honestly drowning out everything else.

how would taehyung react if they saw each other again?

how would he react? what would he do if he saw the literal love of his life?

such thoughts only brought him to think about the last day they ever saw each other. that horrible, horrible day that literally changed everything.
