0.33 written chapter: the park date

no one pov

"jungkook!"

taehyung yelled as he finally spotted jungkook sitting on one of the benches a good 40 feet away. the older smiled as he turned and spotted the dirty blonde waving at him.

taehyung gave a boxy smile while running over to the ravenette.

"hi." taehyung smiled, sitting down next to the older. jungkook smiled gently at the boy. "hey." he said. taehyung let out an almost silent giggle, for no reason in particular, glancing at the basket of food jungkook packed.

"can we eat now? im hungry."

taehyung asked. it was enough for jungkook to nod, the two chosing a nice spot under a tree, and starting their picnic. taehyung opening the blanket he brought, jungkook getting out the food he had packed.

"oh my gosh- strawberries!~" taehyung gasped, excited, at the sight of his favorite fruit.

jungkook smiled sheepishly, watching as taehyung grabbed the container and munching down on the said fruits. his lips tinting red from the strawberry juice. his cheeks puffed, stuffed with food.

the ravenette chuckled to himself, though taehyung heard. resulting in him pouting, a cute scowl on his face as he eyes the older.

"shush." taehyung spoke, after finishing his food. jungkook glanced up at the older, giving a side smile before taking a bite of his sandwich.

"so, uh- how has your week been?" jungkook asked, trying to start simple conversation. feeling his ears heat up when the younger looked at him.

taehyung smiled softly. "it was good. mostly just stayed at home. and i cleaned my room- kinda. oh! and yesterday i went out with hobi hyung. we went biking. it was really fun! but im not really good at riding a bike. but its ok! because hobi hyun-"

the boy cut himself off, realizing he was rambling. he glanced at jungkook with dilated eyes. seeing a sweet smile on his lips. a small glint of something in his eyes, he couldnt exactly identify.

"sorry." taehyung squeaked out. his shoulders tightening as he sunk in his seat, cheeks dusting pink.

jungkook just smiled gently at the boy. "its ok." he said, smiling at the boy, then looking down at his sandwich. again, his emotion too subtle to recognize.

"w-what about your week?" 

taehyung slowly asked, taking a soft bite of the strawberry jam filled cookie he had found. jungkook finally looked back up at the boy.

"it was pretty good i guess. i mean, i really just worked and slept. kind of my usual routine. nothing special." he said sheepishly, shrugging his shoulders a little.

taehyung hummed, as jungkook spoke up again before he responded.

"but i got to hang out with you today. so i guess that makes up for my boring week."

taehyung felt his hand pause, as he was lifting it up to his mouth, about to take a nother bite of his cookie. 

he felt his cheeks tint a light shade of pink. jungkooks words were so simple and casual, but it still managed to fluster the dirty blonde boy.

"o-oh.." taehyung mumbled, glancing up at jungkook, cheeks still painted with pink clouds. jungkook just smiled at his shortly, like he always did. a tight lipped smile, his teeth barely showing, as he smiled so naturally, so softly.

taehyung didnt say anything more, feeling a bubbly feeling in his stomach.

"um.. thanks for today." taehyung smiled after jungkook bought him a simple iced tea from their new favorite cafe.

jungkook chuckled. nothing had really happened that was insane or life changing. but the simple laughs and conversations with taehyung just made him feel so happy. he felt nothing but pure serotonin when with the dirty blonde.

"of course, it was fun." jungkook smiled, keeping his eyes ahead as he walked the younger back to his apartment. the basket still in hand. taehyungs blanket tucked under his arm.

taehyung hummed softly, sipping on his iced tea. glancing up at the taller, blushing at his side profile, for reasons he didnt understand.

soon enough, they made it to taehyungs apartment, and it was time to say goodbye.

"thanks again." taehyung smiled. jungkook nodded, passing the blanket back to the smaller boy. "thanks." taehyung thanked again. jungkook chuckled softly at the amount of 'thankyou's exited the boys mouth.

"d-do you wanna come in for a bit?" taehyung asked, feeling strangely awkward.

jungkook smiled softly, glancing at the door behind taehyung. "i would, but i have a shift in like-" the boy paused, looking at his phone momentarily. "-30 minutes. and i still need to change and drive there."

he laughed shortly, though was disappointed as he wished he could spend more time with taehyung.

the younger hummed, feeling oddly sad jungkook had to leave so soon. 

"ok.." he mumbled, looking up, the two boys' eyes meeting.

"see you.." jungkook mumbled, staring into taehyungs deep chocolate eyes. the younger barely nodded. "see you..." he said, even softer than the older had spoken.

after a minute or so, jungkook finally looked away. tearing his eyes away from taehyungs. rubbing the back of his neck as he sighed softly. knowing he had to get to work soon.

"well, until next time?" jungkook teased softly, a playful tone in his voice. taehyung giggled shortly, a boxy smile raising on his lips. his eyes squinting just a bit.

"until next time."

he teased in return. watching as jungkook smiled widely, his bunny teeth poking through, nose scrunching. before turning around and walking back down the hallway.

taehyung watched the younger walk off. he gently bit his lower lip, trying to prevent himself from smiling. a soft blush rising on his cheeks and the tip of his nose as jungkook glanced back to look at him once more before turning the corner.

taehyungs smile didnt drop as jungkook walked out of his sight. unlocking his door and walking into his apartment.

tossing the blanket on the couch and running to his room. jumping onto his bed, stomach first, giggling to himself as he stuffed his face in his pillows. 

lifting his head, the boy grabbed the fluffy pink bear jungkook had one for him.

he smiled yet again, pulling the bear close to his chest, his nose brushing against its soft fur. arms squeezing around its soft body.

he stared at the wall infront of him, feeling a bubbly, giddy feeling in his chest and stomach. 

his mind fogged with images of jungkook.

i feel this book isnt really that interesting atm. but i promise this is only the begining.
