~Chapter Seventeen~

I had to re-dress myself after the whole dog bath fiasco, but after receiving the great news news from Reggie, I had an extra pep in my step and a brighter smile on my face.

It was this feeling that led me to have the confidence to ask Julie and the guys the big question.

I had opted for a black and white bodycon dress over a white, long sleeve shirt. They say look good, feel good, and I was feeling good enough to leave Scooby at home for the day. He deserved it after the "torture" i put him through this morning.

With backpack in tow, I walked dawn the halls of Los Feliz High School and tried looking for my curly-haired friend.

There she was, standing by her locker, talking to Nick with a certain invisible brunette listening in on their conversation.

I can't decide who I ship more, Juke or Jick?

Anywho, just as I was approaching them Nick left, Luke following him for a second before coming back to talk to Julie. This time, I could hear what they were saying.

"Well he is just too cute!" Luke said, pointing at Nick.

Julie rolled her eyes. "Boundaries. I'll see you after school."

"Guess we'll just have to carry you tonight just like we always do."

Julie started walking off and I rushed over before she got too far. "Julie, hey wait!"

Thankfully, she turned just in time and I was able to catch her before she got too far from Luke.

"Good morning Julie, good morning Luke." I nodded in each of their directions as they reciprocated my greeting.

"I know this is kind of late, but I was wondering if I could perform a song I wrote with you all tonight."

I fished out of my backpack for my music sheets and handed them over to Julie. "The song is a bit rough around the edges, but it's something I've been needing to get off my chest for a while."

Julie read over the music, Luke looking just over her shoulder. I stood silently waiting for a response from them. Anxiety started nibbling on my mind as the time grew and yet not a word was said.

Julie was the first one to break the silence. "Mags, this is great! What do you think?" Julie asks Luke.

"This is fly! I'll show it to the guys, but are you sure we'll appear if you alone sing it?" He asks.

I shrug. "We can always try before the concert. If not, I could play guitar myself."

The both nodded.

I looked at the time on my phone. "We should head to dance now just so we have the extra time to change."

Julie and I were off to class, leaving a bragging Luke in our wake

~Time Skip~

I stood by my dance partner, Daniel, as we were listening to the lacrosse coach give his speech.

Fourth Wall Break: I have hardly talked to Daniel before, and I'm pretty sure he's gay, so you better not be getting any ideas.

"Boys, I want you to focus and leave it all out on the field."

Leave what on the field you may ask? Don't look at me for answers, 'cause I don't think anyone in this room knows what he's talking about.

"Breath in... shake out your nerves. Surrender to the music and to your partner. Here we go."

Our dance teacher turned on the music.

"Five, Six, Seven, Eight."

(A/N - Just picture Maggie and Daniel dancing. Just thought I'd give this video for y'all)
