Chapter 4

"Oh great just what we need right now" Kathleen sighed "why is he here with her" Meredith groaned "I haven't seen that bitch in 2 years and now she decides to show up" Kathleen said.

"What do you mean Derek why wouldn't I be here" Rose said innocently "you know exactly why you can't be here so you and your boyfriend should head out" Derek said through clenched teeth "fiance" Finn corrected "huh?" Derek said "you said boyfriend I'm her fiance" Finn said "fiance, boyfriend I don't give a shit just leave" Derek groaned.

Meredith walked up to Derek avoiding Finn "Derek" Meredith said trying to get his attention "Meredith you should go back over there I'll be there in a second" Derek told her "Meredith" they both heard Finn say "You know him?" Derek asked "uhm yes that's the Finn I told you about remember" she said she really didn't tell him about Finn but she wanted him to get the hint "huh" he said which made her glare at him. "Oh that Finn" Derek said getting the hint.

"Meredith what are you doing here?" Finn asked "why wouldn't I be I'm Derek's wife after all" she said hoping Derek would just play along "and you must be Rose, Finn's mistress" Meredith added. "Are you sure your his wife I don't see a ring on your finger" Rose scoffed "that's because I just got done giving one of my lovely nieces a bath so I took it off and forgot to put it back on" Meredith said.

"Isn't tonight about Derek looking for a girl to become his wife" Rose said still not buying it "oh no I think you miss understood it's about Derek already finding a girl to be his wife" Meredith said "ugh whatever let's go Finn" She scoffed before storming out.

Derek was in awe and was just falling for her a bit more. He grabbed her hand and led her farther away from the gala most people were already there considering it was already 8:35.
"You didn't have to do that you know" Derek said "but I wanted to" Meredith smiled "so I'm guessing someone told you about Rose" Derek said "oh yeah Kathleen" Meredith responded.

"So who was Finn to you?" He asked curiously "oh my boyfriend of 2 years but I'm so glad I ended that relationship" Meredith said with relief and saftey like she could tell him anything. "So he cheated on you with Rose" Derek said "yep caught them in the act at his house" Meredith's nodded. "Oh I'm sorry" he said sympathetically "It's no big deal I'm happy where I'm at now I swore to never let a man back in my life again because trust issues but I might be reconsidering that" she said looking into his eyes.

"Do I owe you anything?" He asked her meeting her gaze "not much just one thing" she said with a smirk forming "and what would that one this be?" He asked again "this.." she said before she wrapped her arms around his neck looking between his eyes then lips. Derek was doing the same thing his hands were gripped on to her hips. Finally their lips met it was like sparks went through them.

After a while they pulled away "wow" Meredith said "yeah wow" Derek agreed. They were about to kiss again when they heard someone from behind them "Look at this Meredith and Mcdreamy who woulda thought" Cristina said.

"Cristina!" Meredith exclaimed "your here..with everyone else" Meredith added "ofcourse I am they literally dragged me her and made me put on a dress but I mean it's not as horrid as Izzie's dress" Cristina said "my dress isn't horrid what do you mean" Izzie asked "I mean it's pink and sparkly I don't like it" Cristina responded "Meredith do you like my dress?" Izzie asked "oh uhm ofcourse Izzie" Meredith said trying to be nice "Ugh you and Cristina are so dark and twisty" Izzie groaned. "We are not" Meredith argued "oh you so are you poor girls" Izzie said shaking her head. "Oh I hate you and your dress" Meredith said "my dress is nice" Izzie said laughing.

"So Meredith are you going to introduce us to your little friend" Alex spoke up. "Oh yeah ofcourse, guys this is obviously Derek Shepherd, Derek these are my friends Cristina, Izzie, Alex, George, and Owen" Meredith said. "Nice to meet you all" Derek said
"Right back at you Mcdreamy where's Mcsteamy" Cristina said "uhm I'm not quite sure who Mcsteamy is and what's with the nicknames" Derek asked very confused "don't worry about it's no big deal and uhm Mcsteamy is Mark Sloan" Meredith said looking up at him "oh Mark he is around here some-" Derek started "Derek there you are I was looking everywhere for you" the heard Mark say "well there he is" Derek sighed laughing a bit.
