Meredith Grey and her mother aren't the wealthiest people alive Meredith is working 2 jobs to pay for her and her mom. Ellis, Meredith's mother isnt very healthy either bit some days she feels fine enough to head to town just to get out of the house...
Meredith and Derek have been dating for one year now and it has been the best year of both of their lives. That gala has been thing to happen to the both of them and another good this is Meredith's mother has been getting way better.
"Meredith dear, you still there?" Carolyn asked.
"Oh yeah sorry just thinking about this past year" she smiled.
Derek smiled and squeezed her thigh a little from under the dinner table.
"It has been quite the year hasn't it" Derek smiled.
"Best one I have ever had" Meredith smiled at him as he kissed her forehead.
"You guys are so weird" Nancy shook her head.
"They're in love Nance" Christopher chuckled.
"Yeah Nance" Kathleen laughed.
"Meredith I have a question for you" Derek said.
"What is it?" She asks.
"Come with me" he says and she follows.
He leads her to the ballroom where they first met. He opens the door and reveals a dark empty ballroom except it had a huge heart in the middle made out of candles and lavender rose petals. He leads Meredith into the room.
He smiles as she looks in the middle and it's a picture of them at the gala. "Derek this is amazing" she smiles.
"So are you" he says. "But I still have that question to ask you" he says.
She turns around to see him on one knee holding a ring. "Meredith Grey will you marry me?" He asks.
She holds her hand up to her mouth her eyes brimmed with happy tears. "Yes!" She nodded frantically.
He smiles and slips the ring onto her finger and then stands up to kiss her.

"It's beautiful" she says looking at the ring.
"Just like you" he says softly putting her hair behind her ears.
"I love you" she says before kissing him.
"I love you more" he says as they pull away breathless.
They walk back into the dinning room and tell everybody and everyone is extremely happy.

They got married two months ago but Meredith is starting to feel horrible.
She was in the bathroom when she called Derek in there. He rushed in the bathroom to see a smile on her face with tear stains on her cheeks.
"Derek I'm pregnant" she giggles as he rushes over to give her a hug.
He put his hand over he flat abdomen and knelt down by it. "I love you already little baby" he says kissing it.
"The baby loves you too" Meredith smiles.
"What are we thinking for names?" Derek asks wiggling his eyebrows.
She hits his shoulder "definitely not there yet" she smiles.

Nine months later...
"Almost there love" Derek said holding her hand as she gives birth.
"God, it hurts" she seethed.
"One more push momma" the doctor says.
And with that was born a baby girl that they named Eleanor Shepherd.
"She's beautiful" Meredith says holding her for the first time.
"Just like her momma" Derek says rubbing his thumb across Els head.
