Miku POVThe week went by surprisingly tension free. I was surprised Nero really got through to Len. It seems he was the only one who could.
Len had returned back to being cold and distant. Barely paying any attention to me and that was just the way I liked it. I didn't like his attention.
Because it only ever meant trouble.
Currently, I was on my way to the waterfalls again. I didn't have any laundry, but... I was kind of hoping to see that dragon again.
I looked into the many dragon books I had about how to appear friendly to dragons. I even brought a bucket of fish to get it to warm up to me.
Now all I had to do was befriend it without getting killed.
I was nervous... but excited at the same time. I didn't have any friends. So imagine having a whole dragon friend.
I've read that dragons, before the war began, were very loyal and kind to humans they liked. They were also considered as life long soul mates. Because of how loyal they could get. Almost like a dog.
But a dragon was much more.
The fact that it didn't kill me when it had the chance... could mean something right? Maybe I could make the most of it and... if I'm lucky enough... befriend it.
You're such an idiot Miku
I know but that was how desperate I was for a friend. I didn't have granny to talk to anymore so I needed at least an animal friend. Even if that friend was a fifty foot dangerous reptile that could snap me in half if it wanted.
I could hear the waterfall from where I stood. And I took a deep breath. Pushing the bushes aside to take a peak if the dragon was there.
And it was.
Did it always come here to relax? Was I alone? Or did the others come here as well?
So many questions. Yet no one to answer them.
I take a deep breath, hiding behind a tree to calm myself before holding up the bucket. Let's do this.
All I had to do was follow the guide in the book and I'll be fine.
I push through the bushes slowly, to see the dragon's head dipped in the water. From where I stood, it didn't look like it was trying to drink it. It was as if it was trying to catch the fish in it. I smile. Perfect.
I approach it slowly, breathing in and out shakily as sweat formed on my forehead.
I accidentally step on a dried leaf and the dragon growls, turning around to face me with its eyes narrowed into slits. I hold in a scream, stepping backwards with shaky legs.
"Uh.. Nice dragon... good dragon..." I whisper, almost falling over. Which would be a bad thing because the book said to avoid sudden movements. As it alerts them.
"R..remember me?.... the nice village girl?" I ask. As if it could understand me. Smoke starts to come out of its mouth and I could see its throat glowing red. Was it about to... shoot fire balls at me?
"Please... don't kill me... I b..brought fish!" I raise one of the fishes from my bucket. Smiling at it sheepishly. And I smile even wider when I notice the smoke decreasing and its throat go dim.
Its working...
It still has a snarl on its face and I keep the bucket down. Approaching it with the fish. Something tells me this was a male. It's defensive behaviour gives it away.
