"You look ravishing" charlotte ran up to her niece whose plane had just landed
"Really? I was just stuck on a plane puking for the past 1000 hours. Glad I still look the part" Thea chuckled feeling her aunt crash onto her engulfing her in a hug
"You share my blood, it's in our DNA to be impossibly beautiful" charlotte smiled grabbing one of the bags
"I hear it all the time" Thea rolled her suitcase against the airport tiles making their way to the car where they eventually started to drive after some silence and getting settled into the car they started to chat
"How are you liking America so far?" Charlotte questioned
"Char I've literally only been on the ground for less than an hour" Thea shifted in her seat
"Well, what do you see so far that you might like?" Charlotte phrased the question bit differently
"I see you and the rain with deep green trees...I see the fog and the cold" she smiled looking out the window
"You've always been a fan of the cold haven't you?" Charlotte went down the road approaching their house
"Yup, it's rare being able to enjoy the cold back home even wintertime is just a second spring" they pulled into the driveway lugging the bags inside
"Alright, your room is to the left mine is to the right. Each room has its own bathroom...and please be honest...how did I do?" Charlotte anxiously watched her niece enter the room and she looked around smiling
"Black and green" Thea looked up
"your cousin sent me some photos of your room back home this seemed the safest way to go" Charlotte nervously laughed
"It's perfect thank you" Thea walked over hugging Charlotte
"Oh thank god" Charlotte let out a breath of fresh air
"You're spoiling me already" Thea looked up at her
"You're my favorite niece it's a given" Charlotte laid the bags down on the bed
"You do know I'm your only niece...right?" Thea questioned jokingly
"Of course! How else would you ever be my favorite?" Charlotte teased Getting a pillow thrown at her
"Ha...ha...ha" Thea grumbled
"Oh! I forgot to tell you that I'm introducing you to Charlie" Charlotte watched as the girl looked at her confused as to who he was "he's our neighbor so I want you to meet him"
"Oh sweet" she agreed to look out her bedroom window the only house next to theirs
"He's coming over for lunch" Charlotte walked out the room leaving Thea to unpack

Thea hurried down the stairs hearing the doorbell swinging the door open to see a man in a police officer uniform "Hellloooo...you must be our guest" Thea moved out the way and he walked in
"I'm Charlie I'm guessing you're Thea?" He looked down at her and she nodded
"I am, I like your mustache looks like it's hard maintenance though" she pointed out
Charlotte entered the room Charlie looked up and mouthed 'I like her' before taking his hat and muddy shoes off to walk inside. They sat down and started to eat the lunch
"So what made you come to forks?" Charlie looked over
"A change in scenery is always good for the mind" she replied
"And you're 17 right?" Charlie double-checked and Thea nodded
''ill be 18 soon through'' she smiled counting down the days
