" Invite the burn. "
_It had been nine days since the accident. The stitches were taken out leaving a small scar on the back of Brynn's head. Fortunately, they didn't have to shave much hair to do so. She could still cover the bald spot with her golden locks. This town gossiped enough as it was. She didn't need to spoon feed them more reasons to keep her name in their mouth.
The girl had gotten to see Dr. Carlisle Cullen again. He took her stitches out, while making polite conversation. The striking man was sickeningly sweet and his tone was wise. A little too wise for a man claiming to be in his thirties.
Brynn remembered his hands being cold to the touch. Most doctors had cold hands though from constant washing in order to sterilize. Germs were known to thrive in warm environments. That was a fact her younger sister had told her a couple years ago. Ever sense them Brynn made sure her room was always cool. The thought of being sick made her palms sweat and her throat clench.
The blonde sucked in a breathe before resting her head against the cool glass window. Once again Alice had driven her to school. Even though it was at the last recovery day, Alice insisted she continue driving her until her next check up. Which wasn't for another five days. It honestly stressed Brynn out. She missed to morning car rides with Bella. Alice was nice, but she filled the ride with millions of questions.
" You okay, Brynn? You're not growing another headache are you? "
" I'm fine, Alice. It's just a bit of a bumpy ride and it's early. "
The pixie-like girl went silent, while nervously glancing over to the redheaded Edward cullen. Something about those two gave Brynn secretive sibling vibes. It was clear they were closer than the others.
Alice whipped her head back around with a pearly white grin. The smile of perfection. One that matched the rest of her family's.
" You said your favorite color is burnt orange right? Does that have anything to do with a love for the fruit? "
Brynn shifted in her seat. " I'm more of a kiwi gal, but my sister's allergic so I don't get it often. "
She hummed in what Brynn took as a satisfied answer. " Do you speak any other languages by any chance? "
" Just Czechoslovak, but you already know that. "
" Right. Any interest? I happen to be excellent in Italian. "
Brynn stilled at that. Her most recent dream was in Italian. She couldn't understand a single thing. She just happened to know it was Italian. The blonde considered asking Alice to translate before the school bus came to a stop.
