You know I thought hiring an assistant would be fun. I guess that was before my best friend pissed me off and females came here with no experience one so ever, it was almost like it was a joke to them.

"You've never had a job and your 18?" The young girl in-front of me nodded with a smile on her face "I'm sorry but this position is for someone with a little more experience and age, not someone that literally has their mom as a job reference but thank you" I could tell by her eyes that she was disappointed and yes I felt bad but this was the 26th person we interviewed with a resume that looked like a quote off a Dr. Seuss book and I was tired plus I didn't feel like being in the presence of Taylor since we haven't spoken since I walked away from our conversation.

"Maybe we should just start again tomorrow" that was the best thing she said all day.

I was completely over today.

"Hi I'm here for the assistant position" this woman came in before I couldn't even get up and pack my stuff, her red bottoms clicked along the tile floor, she was pretty "I hope your Résumé at least fills up the page" Taylor said and she smiled handing me a file "how old are you?" I said looking through her file "28, I was born and raised here in New York"
"You haven't worked in 4 years?" She nodded "My husband is pretty wealthy so I don't have to work but he's so busy that I figured I go back to work and do something fun" Taylor and I looked at each other for a split second and I could tell we were thinking the same thing.

I was gonna put her out but I think she realized what she said quickly after she said it"Oh wait no, oh my god I swear I didn't mean it like that...this is obviously a really successful business and I will take it seriously" she sighed rubbing her hand down her face "Oh my god you guys probably think I'm an idiot" I chuckled and looked at Taylor who was equally amused.

"Okay um you can relax Rachel" she finally stopped talking and took a deep breath looking nervous "I think we have everything we need so we'll call you" Taylor cleared her throat obnoxiously loud "Just give us one second" She grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side where she couldn't hear "What?!" I whispered still being cautious "Your really gonna turn away the only qualified person to come in here today?!" I sighed "Well what if someone else comes by equally qualified"
"And what if someone doesn't and she finds a something new and we loose are chance"  okay I hated to say it but she was right.

I especially didn't want to do this again tomorrow so fuck it.

"Actually, you can start next week" her face lit up and I could tell she was trying not to get to happy "Oh thank you, you won't regret it I promise" she shook our hands and left with a smile on her face.

"That went well after 4 hours" I nodded grabbing my stuff "please Nic"  I threw my head back not really in the mood for a conversation with her which I thought my not speaking to her unless necessary would have expressed that.

Looking at her made me sad because this was my best friend at the end of the day but she wasn't acting like that "Look I know your mad at me but I promise i had the best intentions" I shook my head because it was clear that she just wasn't getting it "Taylor, you said that the first time and the first time I was mad but I let it slide, This time I'm disappointed...your suppose to have my back but instead your vouching for a man you don't even know the half about "
"Than tell me"
She grabbed my hands clearly trying to connect with me but the connection was not there "The thing is I shouldn't have to, you should have taken my word for it from jump but you didn't and now we're here" I took my hands away from her and grabbed my purse "We're suppose to be celebrating" she said sounding disappointed and I sighed "I'm not stopping " I walked out our office and got in my car.
