Japanese terms used by weebs

Anime fans may or may not use Japanese words that are commonly used in Anime or Manga, most of them are actually not even used in Japan. If you don't know a Japanese term, you can read here!

Senpai
This doesn't mean crush if you think of that. It means senior in English, someone in a class higher than you. You may or may not think that this means crush because of the many charactef who are in love with their "senpai's" but they aren't crushes.

Kōhai
This word is used to describe juniors or Mentors. It is frequently used by the senpai's calling their "kouhai's" they are basically a year younger than themselves.

Ara ara
People use it to try and feel intimidating. Some people will say ara ara means "Well well"in English. Sometimes that's the case. But Japanese don't usually use that, it is used in Anime/Manga.

Urusai
It means Shut up in English. Characters or Japanese peopel use it to try and stop someone from talking or making any noise because they are annoyed or irritated by them.

Nya
It is "Meow" in English. You may know it from the song. Leat'eq. The lyrics are
"Nya! Ichi ni san Nya! Arigatou."

Dattebayo
Note that this is not a real word in Japanese but it is a made up word by Naruto Uzumaki in the anime shounen called Naruto. He uses it in the end of sentences. Sometimes, in the sub, it may translate as "Believe it!".

Sub
It means Subtitles, it is when texts are seen at the bottom of the anime and are called captions in youtube.

Dub
Is different in Sub. It is when the language you speak is the voice that is being used in the anime. Usually "English Dub".

Kawaii
It is cute in English. It is used when a certain thing or person or maybe place, event and style is being called adorable and is loved by the reader, viewer and such.

Sugoi
Used by characters who are amazed by something or someone

Baka
It is translated as "Idiot" In English and is used to describe people who are dumb, idiotic, nuisance and etc. Tsundere's use them frequently too because those are one of the most iconic words they use.

Onii-san
It is a word used for someone calling another who is older. Don't get me wrong there, onii-san is only used for boys.

Onee-san
Pronounced as (Oneh-san)
It is for the Older sisters now.

Daijobu
Means "Are you okay?" It is asked to confirm the wellbeing of someone.

Imouto
It means younger sister. Used to show that they are a younger sibling.

Tomodachi
Means friend. It is used when someone is close to you. (How am I even going to explain what friends mean even if I only have my bestest friend to conisder as a real friend :D-"

Sensei
It means Teacher of master. Used to call your teacher or master in respect.

Aniki
Means older brother or superior.

Ureshii
Means glad or happy it is used when a character is happy or relieved from something.

Ittai
It is when a character feels hurt or pain.

Osu
It is a combination of two kanji "to push" and "shinobu. Overall it means "to endure".

Oishi
It is when a character likes a taste of a food, edible or not.

Yandere
This word is made by Japanese as a type of dere. This is very common. This is when a character gets overly obsessed by another that it gets to killing them.

Tsundere
One of the most popular ones as well. It is when a character is denying a love for someone and insults them to hide it. And that is why tsundere's use the word "baka".

Goudere
It is when the character has forceful feelings for another. It is a rare dere type.

Dere dere
Dere dere, whereas a character has no doubt about having feelings for another and is overjoyed about it. They are cheerful and energetic types of characters.

Dandere
This is a character who only likes to watch their love interest from afar. They tend to be shy towards them and even go as far to stalking them.

Himedere or Oujidere
Hime means princess and Ouji means prince. It is when the character demands to be treated as royalty to everyone even their love interest. They tend to be arrogant.

Bakadere
It is when a character's live is clumsy but very pure. They don't make that much smart decicions due to their lack of common sense.

Kamidere
It is when a character expects to be treated as Gods. Some will have this type but still respect others while some will act narcicistic.

Kuudere
It is when a character is very blunt even towards their love interest. Them seem very cold but they still feel love towards a character, so they only watch from afar not wanting to show feelings.

Sadodere
They are dere's that want to manipulate in a sadistic way. They enjoy putting their love in a tough situation or just watching them suffer.

Shundere
A character who is depressed, usually not in a serious way, for the whole story. They are very gloomy and they stay that way.

Hyakasudere
This is when a character likes to tease their love interest and play with them. They like to make fun of them because of their funny reactions
