Y/n pov
Another day at work but luckily it's a short shift. I'll be finished around 1 pm today. For some odd reason, the man from yesterday hasn't left my mind yet. Like I can't even decide if I have a crush on him! It's really odd.
I got to work and saw that my co-worker was already there. Usually, when she has to come in early she'll be late but I guess not today.
"Oh hey, Y/n!"
"Hey, how are you?" I asked since she looked a bit out of place.
"Oh, I'm good just a bit tired. Went out last night."
"Cool." Probably with her boyfriend I mean it must be nice that someone cares about you and loves you.
after we opened The first person who came in was a total Karen. She didn't like anything. Like it's 8 in the morning I'm tired as fuck And then this lovely lady tries to mess up my mood even more.
"What do you mean you guys don't have fresh apple pie slices?!? What kind of place is this?" She shouted to my face.
"Sorry we only have leftovers from yesterday right now, we usually bake later on the day."
"You know this place is garbage You guys should have fresh food at all times!" She said looking really pissed.
After some time of her calling us shitty things she got her coffee and left. But like it's 8 am and we just got here like half an hour ago to get the place ready sorry we didn't have time to do all that.
I don't know why but Karens just make me really upset.
It's okay it was just one bad customer I said to myself.
After some time me and my co-worker found some time for us to eat our lunch. She forgot hers so her boyfriend brought her some food from mc Donalds.
"Thank's babe!" She said to her boyfriend as he leaves.
Yeah, maybe one day I'll be able to say that as well. Like not to sound desperate but I'm an adult and I have never had a real boyfriend. Like those middle school relationships are not really relationships at least for me they weren't. Yeah maybe for someone else they are real but not for me. Maybe because no one really wanted to date me.
Then 12 am rolled around and I was still thinking about the guy. And guess who I saw walk in again. Yeah, that same guy. He reached the counter with a comforting smile.
"Hey!"
"Oh, hey what can I get for you today?" I asked with a friendly voice smiling.
"Umm... one medium black coffee please."
"Anything else? If not then that'll be 2.50."
"No that's it thank you." He said smiling at me. I saw him glancing at my name tag a little but it probably meant nothing. He paid and went to sit On the same spot as yesterday in the back corner.
Okay, maybe it is a small crush! But a really small one.
I made his coffee, trying to make it as perfect as I could make one black coffee.
I finished with his coffee and started walking towards his table.
"And here's your medium black coffee, tell me if you need anything else." I say looking at him.
"Thanks!"
I got back and looked at the clock.
"Last 40 minutes." I mumble to myself.
Between the other customers, I kept glancing over to his table.
He seemed to be drawing in his own world. But there were times when I looked and saw that he was looking towards me. embarrassing. And it was probably nothing and he probably wasn't even looking at me.
Like 10 minutes before my shift ended I saw him get up and leave.
So I went to get his mug. As I picked it up I saw that he had left me some tip. And more than usually people tip. Well most of them don't even tip.
Anyway, I got the 10 dollar bill and put it in my pocket. Like he doesn't have to tip at all, but it was really sweet of him.
I cleaned the table and got ready to leave.
"Okay, bye Y/n. But I wanted to ask if you would be able to cover my shift tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?" Well, tomorrow was the longest day and she would have the shorter shift in the evening. But if she doesn't come I'll be here for 12 hours!
"Yeah, tomorrow just me and my boyfriend are going on a date because it's our anniversary." She said sounding so love-filled.
"Umm... yeah, I can do that."
"Yeah thanks, you understand it's just important to me. Or... maybe you don't because you're single." She said.
"Yeah, I understand just have a good time okay." I said getting my bag and stepping out of that place.
I knew she didn't want to hurt me with that 'being single' joke, she's a gossip girl remember. And sometimes she jokes around to see if I have someone. A really weird way to ask about it I know.
As I got home and unlocked the door to my apartment I couldn't think of anything but that guy.
I dunno just something about him makes him so unforgettable? For me.
But since it was still in the middle of the day I decided to go grocery shopping and tidy up my apartment. which will not take long because it's a small apartment.
I got my groceries and started to put them away in my fridge. Until I realized I forgot to buy coffee. And yeah I work in a coffee shop where I drink coffee a lot and then I come home and drink even more coffee. Umm... yeah I think that's called an addiction. But hey I just need the energy.
As I was cleaning up my thing and putting away my clothes from yesterday's laundry I got a message from my mom. But I ignored it as always. I don't have time or the energy and the mood to talk to her again.
A/n: sorry it took longer than I thought but I hope you enjoy this part!
