"V-Vinnie?" He was shaken awake from his sleep.

He sat up to see his younger sister with tears streaming down her face and her best friend behind her. Avery was asleep next to him but right now he was more concerned about his younger sister, considering he'd just a dream about her dying.

"What's the matter?" Vinnie asked as he stood up and pulled the girls out into the hallway.

"I'm scared." Halle whimpered.

"Why are you scared? What's wrong?" Vinnie asked, being taken by surprise when she hugged him tightly.

"Maddy and I were sleeping in my room and it sounds like there is someone outside my window." Halle gripped her older brothers body in fear.

Soon Reggie appeared in the hallway, a concerned look on his face.

"Are mom and dad home?" Reggie asked.

"No they're in New York for a busi-"

"Babe there is someone outside your window." Avery said, walking into the hallway.

Vinnie started to speak again but was interrupted by a loud bang from somewhere outside the house. All the girls jumped. Halle and Avery clung to Vinnie tightly and Reggie pulled Maddy closer to his side to keep her safe.

"Girls I want you guys to go with Reggie down to the basement, you'll be safe there cause there's no windows and you could watch movies down there. I've got some things to take care of." Vinnie said. Surprisingly Avery agreed and so did Maddy but Halle refused.

"I'm not leaving you up here alone." Halle shook her head.

"Hal, I can't risk you getting hurt." Vinnie said, sighing when she shook her head and clung to him tighter.

The two of them usually didn't get along very well and Halle hated talking to Vinnie but right now she couldn't shake the thought of her brother dying and she wasn't with him.

"Please go downstairs Halle. I'll be there in a little bit." Vinnie said as everyone walked away to give them a minute.

"No Vinnie. I'm staying with you. Please just let me stay with you. I don't wanna go with Reggie." Halle begged.

"Alright fine, but the minute something happens do you promise me that you'll go downstairs?" Vinnie asked.

"I promise." Halle nodded.

"Alright. Reggie take them down there." Vinnie pointed.

It had been about 20 minutes since the two girls and Reggie went downstairs and Vinnie was keeping Halle close to him. The banging had only gotten louder but somehow the girls downstairs had drifted off to sleep under a pile of blankets with Reggie in the middle of them, refusing to leave there sides.

"I'm scared Vinnie." Halle whispered from the spot on the floor where they were sitting.

"I know. That's why I wanted you to go downstairs Hal." Vinnie answered.

"No Vin, I'm scared somethings gonna happen to you." Halle said, hugging his arm tighter.

She wasn't physically able to stop hugging him. When all of this started happening the first person she thought to go to was Vinnie. She knew he'd be there to keep her safe.

"If something happens to me I'll need you to get Reggie. But we're going to try and avoid that from happening okay?" Vinnie said softly.
