Scott's P.O.V.

I had finally talked with Sierra, now knowing her true feelings. It nearly enlightened me. Since she told me, I haven't been able to get a boyish smile off my face. I was sitting sideways, my arm on the back of the couch, somewhat around Sierra's back.

"Sierra, I'm about to tell you something and I'm not sure how you're going to take it. So however you feel, please don't let it ruin the good connection we have." I paused, taking a deep breath. "Sierra, I want to be with you."

"Scott I never thought...I never thought you'd be able to return the feelings I have. This is such good news because I want to be with you as well." A blush formed on her face, "I have such strong feelings for you and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do anything about it." She looked at me with happy soft eyes.

I smiled, my hand softly resting against her cheek. I looked down to her lips, only slightly beginning to lean in. My focus was taken away by Brett storming out of the house and slamming the door. I looked back to Sierra quickly, but then bolted off the couch and started to head upstairs. I barged into the room Kate was staying in, looking at her sitting on the bed, her head hung.

"What do you want now?" Kate snapped, not realizing it was me.

I looked at her confused, she was smiling. It was such an off kilter look. I have to know why.

"What the hell happened?!" Sierra was angry. She crossed her arms waiting for an answer.

Kate started laughing, "I made Brett leave."

I moved over to Kate. "Kate, why did you make him leave?" I sat next to her, worried. I know how she got last time something happened like this. I was regarding her with my eyes, trying to shoo Sierra away.

"Because I don't want him and I don't need him." She looked to me with what seemed as happiness in her eyes. "He was just a stupid distraction..." Her tone quickly changed.

I cocked my head to the side. "Sierra, can you give us some time? I want to talk to Kate alone." I looked at Sierra, urging her out. I waited for her to leave.

"I don't love him. I haven't in a long time." Her face went completely blank. I can't comprehend this, just a while ago she had him all over her and now she doesn't want anything to do with him. There has to be more to this.

I put my hand on her thigh, lightly squeezing. "Kate, if you don't love him, why did you say that you two were going to be a thing? Did he threaten you to say it before hand?" My eyes continuously scanned her face.

"It truly doesn't matter okay?!" She pulled away, getting off the bed. "How about we don't talk about this and say we did?" She began pacing.

I put my hands up, watching Kate. "I just don't want to see you hurt. So I'm here for you if you want or need anything." I stayed on the bed, my eyes watching warily.

"I'm fine. I'm always fine. Leave me be dammit! I don't need help." Kate backed away from me, "I don't need anyone. I haven't needed anyone in a long time."
