-Downstairs-

Danny comes back with the soup for Sierra. She is still looking at the ceiling."Hey kiddo, the soup is ready. I need to help you sit up though." Danny says, while placing the bowl on the table. He manages to get her sitting upright, and he grabs the bowl. "Let me know if it's too hot."

"Kay." Sierra says weakly. Danny takes the first spoonful and brings it to her mouth. He slowly feeds her, and he dabs at the little bit of broth that slips out of her mouth.

"Does it taste good?"

"Yeah." She looks at him. "Tha...nk you." She struggles to show gratitude, but Danny knows what she meant.

"No problem. Ready for more?"

"Yeah." He nods, slowly feeding her again. He feels horrible because he cannot figure out why her body made her have this reaction, or know how to help. He won't let his self-hate and guilt show. He doesn't want to scare her. "Alright Sierra, you ate enough for now. You want to get some rest now?" Danny dabs her mouth with a moist paper towel.

"Yeah." She says simply, and looks at him. Danny picks her unresponsive body up, and carries her to the room next to his. By the time he tucked her in, she was already asleep.

"Sleep tight Sierra." He says quietly.

-An hour later-

Sierra is sleeping, but is woken up by Danny checking on her.

"David, this is Sierra. She's one of the sweetest girls. She may be confused on what she wants to do with her life, but she knows she wants to be happy. That's the only thing a person should want in life. Along with love. Do you know what love is David?" Danny asks quietly, with David in his arms.

"Yeah daddy. It's what you and mommy share. It's when you do fishy faces to each other and hug each other. You are happy when you smile. You smile because of mommy and Andi. Daddy, do you love Andi?" David says, not knowing Sierra is 'asleep.'

"Yeah. I do kiddo, but she doesn't know."

"Why Daddy?"

"Well, I don't want to tell her. I just want her to be happy. It's how Uncle Scott is with Sierra. He won't act on his feelings because he also loves Auntie Kate."

"Oh okay Daddy. Can I go give Sierra my teddy?" David asks, his voice showing how innocent he is.

"Yeah. I'll walk over with you. After though, you have to go back to bed. You don't want the tickle monster to get you again, do you?" Danny says, a smile evident in his voice.

They walk over, and Danny sees Sierra is awake. He puts a finger to his mouth, and Sierra pretends to be asleep. David puts a teddy bear next to her, and giggles quietly.

"Daddy, she's sleeping."

"Yeah buddy. Alright, it's time for bed." They walk out of the room, and Sierra silently cries.

She doesn't want to be here anymore, and she blames Scott. She can never be mad at Kate. She doesn't know why she punched Kate. She hates herself for it. She hates Scott for it. She hates herself because she can't move anymore. She let her heart take control, and it put her in the semi-vegetative state. When Scott was holding her, she wanted to cry. She knew that his feelings for her were fake; just as Brett said. That's another thing; she hates herself for letting Brett use her. She cries, knowing she will never be able to say she waited for the right man.

"I... don't... want... to... be... here..." She says, struggling greatly. Her mind is made up, and she is going to follow it instead of her heart. She will no longer respond. She will be an empty-shell, and she will no longer want her emotions. She will become nothing.
