Later that day Leah began to have second, and third, thoughts about dining in Seb's suite. Maybe it would have been better to dine out in public. What if he tried it on with her? What if he was expecting something she wasn't prepared to give?
"Stop it Leah!," she said out loud. "Seb has been nothing but a gentleman. He won't do anything you feel uncomfortable with. Even if he was to try something he'd stop if you told him no."
She looked at herself in the full length mirror on the wardrobe door. She was wearing a white and yellow flowery sundress with white flat sandals. She'd tried putting her hair up but had decided to leave it down in the end. She'd also decided to leave her glasses behind. She didn't really need them and she wanted to look attractive for Seb.
She put on minimal make up in the neutral colours that suited her the most. Finally, she'd sprayed on some of the new perfume she'd bought at the airport yesterday while waiting for the long delayed flight.
She looked at herself again. "No bad Chandler-Webb. Not bad at all."
Looking at the time on her phone she realised that Seb would be picking her up in five minutes. She grabbed her thin white cardigan and slipped it on. Then she slid her phone and her keycard into her white leather shoulder bag.
She let herself out and headed down the stairwell instead of waiting for the lift.
As she exited the hotel she noticed Seb leaning against a bright blue Aston Martin Superleggera. He raised his hand to get her attention. Why did he have to look so delicious? He was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and a navy blue polo shirt. His hair looked damp, as if he'd just got out of the shower.
He smiled at her as she approached him.
"Leah...you look beautiful," he said, opening the door for her.
"Thank you. You look very handsome," she replied, repaying the comment. Seb blushed slightly. He didn't know why but he suddenly felt very nervous. He breathed in the scent of her perfume as she stepped past him into the car. How was he going to keep his hands off of her? He began to think that dining in his suite was a mistake.
He shut the passenger door and dashed around, climbing into the driver's seat. "So, how did the rest of your day go?" he asked, trying to ease his nerves by striking up a conversation.
"It was ok. We finished early for once so I had time for an hour's nap before getting ready. I've been struggling to stay awake all day."
"You should have said. We could have delayed until another night if you're tired."
"It's ok. I feel much better after my nap. And anyway, I've really been looking forward to tonight," she confessed.
"Yeah me too." He laughed nervously. "Look, I'm going to be honest with you, I'm feeling really nervous. I don't know why but I guess it's because it's been a while since I went on a date. I haven't since I split with Louisa."
"That's only a year or so ago right?"
"Two years next month." Seb started the car up. "Anyway, enough about that. Tonight is about you and me. About getting to know each other a bit more."
He pulled away from the curb. "I'm not really that interesting. I think I've told you all there is to know about me," Leah said, hoping to avoid any deep conversation. She didn't want him asking any awkward questions.
"So I heard on the grapevine that you're a Lewis fan."
"The grapevine is correct. I feel bad admitting that now I've met you. I think I'm kinda switching teams."
