Laughing, the teams thanked Kiyoko and the other managers before they began eating their meals. The hall was full of laughter, each team member talking over one another. The whole place was alive. Tanaka and Noya seemed to enter a shouting contest with Bokuto, each getting louder and louder before Daichi finally snapped and screamed at them to quieten down.

Tanaka scoffed, shouting at the top of his voice. “You'll never silence us! Never! Don’t you think so, Shoyo?” Tanaka turned, looking over Hinata and snapping him out of his thoughts.

Hinata tilted his head, looking at Tanaka in confusion. “Did you say something?" Hinata smiled as Tanaka fell into the seat beside him, wrapping an arm around Hinata’s shoulder.

“I was saying to dad-chi that he can’t keep us down!” Tanaka glared at Daichi who glared right back, staring into Tanaka’s soul.

Hinata nodded, forcing a smile to his face as if he heard a word Tanaka just said.“Yep.” Hinata kept his smile despite the strange look Tanaka was sending him.

“Oi, boke, what’s wrong with you?!” Kageyama scowled across the table, watching Hinata harshly. “Don’t tell me you’re getting nervous again.”

“Of course not!” Hinata forced a smile wider- though the usual sparkle of joy was gone from his eyes. He ducked under Tanaka’s arm awkwardly, jumping up. “I'm feeling a little light-headed so I’m going to go to bed. Night.” Hinata turned away before the others could stop him.

He barely heard the chorus of ‘night’s back, walking out quickly. Rubbing his ear harshly, Hinata tried to dampen the ringing. It hadn’t gotten this bad in so long, it felt wrong. Rubbing it more, Hinata hissed, his ear starting to hurt. Hinata gaped, almost falling over as the hit of dizziness came spiralling back.

It's fine. It's fine. He tried to convince himself it was fine but it wasn't. Collapsing by his bed, Hinata closed his eyes for just a second before he decides he had enough.

He pulled out his phone, unlocking it and making yet another reminder. ‘Go to the doctors!’ Maybe this time, future him would listen.

Rolling over, Hinata tried to block out the ringing, waiting for it to leave. Hinata smiled as the ringing began to quieten, his mind fading allowing for sleep. He didn’t hear Tanaka and Noya crashing into the floor right next to him.

~~~
Confused, Noya tried to wake Hinata up but no amount of shouting seemed to do it. Shrugging his shoulders, Noya kicked him.
Hinata jolted, snapping awake and pushing himself away from Noya.
“There you are! For a second I didn’t think you would wake up.” Noya laughed as Hinata frowned.
He… He couldn’t hear Noya’s laugh. Shaking his head, he stood up, stumbling a little on his feet. The lightheadedness from yesterday hadn’t gone. He tried to take a step but he couldn’t find his balance.
Noya gaped, watching Tanaka spin just in time to catch Hinata. “Shoyo? Are you okay?”
Hinata didn’t answer, rubbing his ears in confusion. Noya and Tanaka shared a look as Noya called out to Hinata. Hinata didn’t answer, jumping when Noya placed a hand on his shoulder. Hinata couldn’t understand what Noya was saying. He shook off the hand and stepped back.
“I have to go.” Hinata rushed away but the world felt wrong. He couldn’t hear anything, not his feet on the ground or the voices of his teammates or the running water he splashed on his face. Everything spun, making it hard to walk. Rubbing his ears, Hinata tried to get any noise. He needed to hear something; anything.
