It was so dark outside. I walked along the side walk and then heard a car with a roaring engine pass by. I began to run. Before I knew it I fall hard on the ground, scraping my knee completely. I began to sob in pain. Not because my knee was in pain but because of my heart. I sat on the side walk crying for 5 minutes until another car passed by. Then a silver car with dark tinted windows stops in front of me.
It rolls down its windows and the driver and I come into view. It was Michael from the ice cream shop. "need a ride?" He smiles in sympathy. I sniff my nose and stand up limping towards the car. I sat in the passenger seat and buckle my seatbelt. "What were you doing here all alone anyways?" I keep quiet staring out the window. "well, I see you went to Brody's party..You drunk?" He said. I turned to look at him and scowled. "I'm not drunk." I said crossing my arms over my chest. He put his hands up in surrender. "sorry," He gripped the wheel again. "so how did that happen?" He looked down at my leg. "what is this an interview?" I hissed with attitude. "I fell alright?" I responded. "damn if I knew you were gonna be such a bitch I wouldn't have offered you a ride." He said low. I sighed, after a moment I looked at him. "look I'm sorry, I've just had a bad night alright? I rather not talk about it." I looked back out the window. "so where you from?" He noticed how I emphasized the word "talk" with my New York accent. It slips out sometimes. "New York." I said. "I've only been there once and I loved it." He smiled. "really? what did you like the most?" I asked. I miss my home town. "Time Square. At night the city is gorgeous." He kept looking at the road. "so when did you get here?" He asked. "about a month ago." He raised his eyebrows in shock."Have you visited the peer?" He said. "no," I replied. "then you are not living my friend." He laughed. "I'll show you around sometime." He parked in front of a Walgreens.
