Iida opened the door to one of the waiting rooms sighing, absolutely drained from his match.
"Hey Iida! You did great out there!" Uraraka greeted. Her cheerfully voice that did not reach her face entirely.
"Oh, Ura- ugh! What's with that face!?" Iida had immediately retracted his hello.
"My face?" She repeated.
Y/n was watching the curent fight on her phone while eating. Even so she made time to turn and comment. "Rude. Let me guess I'm next on the train of insults?"
"What? No! I just-" Iida stumbled to correct himself to his classmates. Uraraka decided to save him instead. "It's fine Y/n-Chan. It's nothing really! I guess I'm not great at hiding how nervous I am."
"I get that." Iida Sympathized. "You are up against Bakugo after all. Not exactly an easy match."
"But y'know, after seeing your match I feel a little better." Uraraka and Y/n did manage to see most of it while waiting in line for hot treats. Considering Y/n has suffered a lot in support class, it was only reasonable for her to cheer for Hatsume's babies that survived the daily blow ups.
"What's that suppose to mean?" The speedster's voice was soft. Not quite offended but curious of Uraraka's reason. Before either of the three could speak, the door opened again. This time it was Midoriya with a notebook in hand. "Uraraka."
"Deku? Why aren't you out there watching the matches?"
"Well most of the fights turned out like I expected them too. And it looks like kirishima's fight is going to drag on for quite a while." Izuku explained.
Y/n glanced at her phone before putting it down. "Figures. Their quirks are too similar. There has been cases of draws in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case."
Y/n watched as Uraraka gripped her wrist tighter. "I'm next. So this is it. My fight." No one was sure of it but it sounded like she was telling herself.
"It'll be okay." Iida immediately turned to Izuku for back up but the robot's nerves were just as visible as Uraraka's. "I don't think Bakugo would use the full power of his explosions on a girl right?"
"Please." Y/n rolled her eyes scoffing. "It Bakugo." She argued.
"Yeah, he would." Midoriya agreed. Their confirmations added pressure onto Uraraka's shoulders. She wimpered at the thought. "And besides everyone is trying to get the top spots in these games. Even if she wasn't fighting Kacchan, I don't think anyone would hold back."
"I'd be insulted." Y/n added. "Why would I want something given to me just because? Yeah, it gets you further but, well, I guess depending on the person......you'll be haunted with the fact that you didn't really earned it. It was handed to you."
Of course, working hard for things you belive in, like this, is what Y/n meant to imply. If it was giving something like gifts and food, hand it over.
Midorya nods. He can relate to her reasoning. Though he was given a quirk now, he still has to put in a lot of work just to use it. Hell, he had to put in a lot of work just to hold it. "You've helped me so much. It's my turn to help you, maybe I can repay you a little bit with this." He brought the notebook closer to view.
By now the whole class knew that Midoriya had a hero notebook and they all knew exactly what kind of things he wrote in it. "I've got a plan on how you can use your quirk against Kacchan. It's not much but I did my best."
"Hey!" Iida began cheering. "Well alright! This is perfect!"
Uraraka wanted to accept. She was feeling hopeless just thinking about the upcoming fight but what Y/n had said earlier....it stroke a nerve. Accepting help with something like this wouldn't be her winning honestly. Uraraka turned to look at Y/n for a second before turning back.
