I can see a book laying on the counter.
I pick it up feeling its smooth plastic, bend in my grasp.
I open it up to the first page, and I see a drawing of a little boy.
It's a crude drawing like something your child would draw.
The child sits on a blank white page. But I feel like there's some life to this book

Flip

I flip to the second page and it's another picture. Its the same child, this time his leg has moved just an inch ever so forward

Flip

I Flip twice and he takes a full step

Flip

I begun to let the pages flip page by page.
The child starts to walk. Step by step by step. A tree moves across the scene as more pages are flipped

Flip

The pages Flip faster and the boy starts to jog, balling his hands into fists as his chest moves up and down. The trees moving faster across the scene

Flip

I flip the pages faster and the child begins to run. His breath getting heavier, and his fists moving faster. The trees beginning to blur as they zoom past the scene

Flip

The trickles of flips begin to sound like a drum roll

Flip

I start to notice something. The child is getting taller and his steps are getting longer

Flip

As I continue to flip the pages the drawings begin to change. The lines become more sharp and the motion more fluid

Flip

He is no longer a child, and has become a teen. You can see his headphones on his head and the pimples on his face.

Flip

He has become a man, he's so fit and so handsome

Flip

There's great detail on his face as wrinkles start to form

Flip

As the pages trickle through I can see him running slower.
The trees in the back are no longer blured

Flip.

The man stops running and begins to walk.
He reaches behind and puts a hand on his back. He hutches over as a cane appears in his hand.

Flip.

No matter how fast I flip, the man won't ever run.

Flip.

The walk becomes a hobble and his face starts to sag.

Flip.

He brings up his other hand and the cane turns into a walker.

Flip.

He's barely taking a step now, and the pages are flipping fast. I reach the end of the book and I look at the last page.

Flip

It's of an urn with the words "the pages of life" engraved on the side
