A faceless boy sits in the dark void.
Dim light radiates around him.
At the edge of the light there are other people,
But its only legs and feet.
The boy sits there, afraid of the legs, afraid of the people.
For he feels he can not trust,
He can't trust anyone in his light.
He's confused and scared and worried of the people he sees.

You see, he has let people in before,
They would play tag with him,
They would joke with him, and tell stories with him.
But once they got close, they would take a piece of him, and run away.

This boy is lonely, and he is scared.
For he can not see the world,
He can not comprehend what little he sees.
He has all of these things to do, the things to survive.

He used to have a face...
He used to see the people around him,
He used to be able to see the sky...
But the light has shrunk.
Now he cowers in the dim light he has.
Scared to let anyone in.

But there was one thing that gave him comfort...
That one thing was a mask.
This mask made him confident...
It made him trust,
Or as much as he allowed.
Because that mask was a shield,
A shield for his emotions.
Since the mask hid his emotions,
He knew no one would truly see.
They would never see that he didn't really trust them.

Since he was lonely he would show his face
He showed it to people who he thought could help.
People he though could trust.
So he would take off his mask and let them in.
But once they saw that he had no face,
They would turn and walk away.
But he wouldn't let them go.
He would cling to their leg and cry away,
Until they grew far and he could only see their legs.

He just wants to find that one person he can trust,
That one person that can help him.
He wants to prove that he can trust someone or something,
because he doesn't want to be alone
Alone in this scary world.
