Train of Thought

"Remember when" I start to say

By the time my words have left my mouth, the train has traveled far and wide.
It carries the cargo of your thoughts.
From end to end of the mind

The track goes up, and the track goes down
Knocking the cargo to the ground.

"Remember when what?" My friend says,
As I sit there scratching my head

"I don't remember, my mind is a rot.
I seem to have lost my train of thought"

The workers begin to grab the cargo
Throwing back upon the train
It takes them a while to grab them all
But I the end it wasn't a strain

They pick it up and put it down
Stacking it neat, now back to town

"When we hiked the mountain" I finally blurt.
Scaring my friend spilling juice on his shirt.

"It's been over an hour and now you remember?"
He says with a frown shaking his finger
