Kojo Krista- Look In The Mirror.
The honk of a vehicle woke the girls up...well everyone except for Ciarra who was already awake as usual and sitting on a customized loveseat in Ashanti's living room. Donald was outside when Mr McAdams let the car in. She could tell it was Kobby's father's truck from the window of the stairway upstairs. The red beat Tacoma coughed into the driveway and Ciarra descended the stairs and stepped out.
" He says he's here to see you girls. " Donald informed her before walking into the garage.
" Hey, you slept here?" He greeted warmly.
" Yeah, I kind of had nothing to do at home anyway."
" That's great, at least you don't get to stay the night alone with Roger."
" Roland." She corrected for the hundredth time since they started dating, " It's like you keep mixing up his name on purpose."
" What can I say. I hate rivalry and he's one so I practically hate him. Same with Lester, Fede, Emile, Jac... come here." She cut him off when she embraced him, " They are all great people but I actually like Kobby Johnson."
" Awww, now I'm on the urge of blushing, it's supposed to be the other way round." He swooned as they pulled away.
" What are you doing here anyway?"
" Special delivery from Ivy." He grinned and returned to the truck popping the backseat open and bringing out a shoebox.
" Oh Vee's shoes." She took it from him." Are you gonna be there tonight?"
" Why, you want me there?" He asked kind of surprised.
" Kind of, I'm pretty cool with all my inner circle friends but I am terrible at gatherings."
" Have no fear. I kind of offered the venue so I pretty much have to be there though I have no relationship with any of the two lovebirds. Let's just say I am supposed to ensure a smooth running of the event."
" Who put you up to this?" Ciarra laughed.
" Shaker, I've already consistently disappointed him so I'm trying to make up. The thing is that I plan on being the Shaker in my senior year."
" Oooh, someone's getting ambitious!" Ciarra teased.
" No, no." Kobby disproves with an embarrassed laugh, " Stop doing that. You make it seem like I don't have goals."
" Do you Kobby??" She still giggled.
" Fine I usually don't but I want to be a responsible person in future so I'm starting to set goals that I can attain."
" That is the single most mature thing I have ever heard you say." She laughed but stopped herself looking him in the eye with a sincere grin her arms thrown around his neck , " I know you can achieve greater things, you just need to start working towards your goals and if you need any help on any step of the way, I'm always ready. Okay?"
He nodded and she kissed him on the cheek.
" Right, with this promise in mind, I need help in Social studies, English language, Chemistry, Biology and Integrated Science."
" Geez that's a lot. Maybe we have to prep together. But not at your place, I'm afraid I'll keep remembering what happened in there." She sighs pulling away with her hands in the pocket of her jeans shorts as she recalled Leila and Kobby together.
" I'm so sorry." He apologizes again in a whisper.
" Hey, it's ok. It's just hard to forget but with time I will."
