Waving my gun around frantically, unsure of which direction something could come from.

The bushes rustling with no wind in the distance, mostly everything just standing still.

Squinting my eyes out of concentration and fear building up inside me.

The man walking out from behind the bushes, and failing to recognize the face I instantly shot, hitting the tree next to Aaron.

Aaron having his mouth open in a shocker expression, especially when he saw my face peeking out of the side of the gun.

Walking towards me as fast as he could, picking me up by my arm, like a parent would to their child.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean anything, I didn't even know it was you—" before I could finish my rambling Aaron broken into a fit of laughter.

"What-?, what happened?" I asked feeling rather confused.

"You like to ramble" he simply spoke, a wide smile on his face before he said anything else.

"You really are my daughter" he just smiled.

The words not entering my brain quickly enough for me to register before getting back to the large gates of a place we called home.. for now.

The streets were empty which was unusual from the time of day, walking back to the small house we shared.

Taking a deep breath before walking in, remembering the situation before and how i left it.

Opening the door to Carl, Bea and Paul in a sharing conversation about god knows what at this point.

The conversation coming to a stop at the sight of me and Aaron, all three of them practically running up to us.

Paul and Aaron sharing a moment while I tried to hug Carl and Bea at the same time, which went surprisingly well.

A bright smile sat on my lips, taking in the room, the people who were my family now, and through the horrible time, they were always there.

Next Bea attacking Aaron with a hug, excited from his return.

Carl pulling into a small hallway next to the living room, "how about a date" he blurted out.

My eyes wide at the thought, thinking about the last unofficial date we had, landed into a pit of hell.

The thought visible on my face, Carl understanding what was going through my mind but decided to reassure me.

"No! no no!" he started "—inside the walls this time, nothing special, just Carl and clove quality time" he smiled, nudging my arm.

Rolling my eyes at his gesture, nodding at his proposal, "I better not regret it grimes" I laughed.

And his eyes grew wide, a smile lifting on his face.

"You won't regret it, I have to go but I'll see you tonight" he took my hand, shaking it frantically.

Smiling to myself, joining the remaining people who felt like my family, they were my family.
