Clarke didn’t allow me to go help save Jasper, even after he saved me.

To say I am unhappy is an understatement. I hate just staying in the camp, and not being able to help the ones who helped me. She didn’t let Monty or Octavia go either, but she ended up tricking Bellamy into going.

“Okay Monty, let’s do this.” He and I are stuck on the upper layer of the dropship trying to get communications up and running. “Any ideas on what to do?”

Monty sits a fair distance away from me. I don’t blame him, though. I realize I’m not particularly the nicest person to get along with. He tinkers around with the metal bracelet on his wrist that lets the Ark know about our vitals.

If we could try to reverse the radio waves, we could communicate with the Ark.

“Monty, you are a genius.” I grin, getting a small, shy smile in return. Suddenly, the hatch pops open, revealing Octavia and one of Bellamy’s boys. I think his name is Atom, or something like that. They continue to argue as he pushes her up the ladder, locking the door on his way back down. A few more words are exchanged before the younger girls explodes.

“Is this all you got? They hid me under the floor for sixteen years just for being born! This is nothing!” Octavia shouts through the locked door. She lets out a huff of frustration. She leans against the ladder, running a hand through her dark hair.

“You want to keep it down? We’re trying to concentrate,” Monty announces, surprising Octavia. I let out a small gasp and grin, giving Monty an elbow to the stomach jokingly. He throws out a lopsided grin, glancing between Octavia and me. A silence laps over us for several minutes.

“Since none of us are gonna get out of here in a while, do you wanna help?” I offer to Octavia, breaking the slightly awkward silence.

She hesitates, then shows a small smile. “What can I do to help?”

Monty shuffles into action. He grabs the tools he’ll need to take off Octavia’s wristband, while I explain how we could possibly contact the Ark using the metal bracelets.

“He may not be my real brother, but he’s always been there. Every memory I have, there’s Jasper. I should be out there,” Monty confessed. He tries to take off Octavia’s wristband.

“You’re not going to cry, are you?” I tease, earning a ‘shut up’ from him. Octavia giggles, adjusting her wrist so it’s more comfortable.

“Are you sure about this? Your brother probably won’t approve of you helping us contact the Ark,” Monty questions. He doesn’t want to get on the bad side of Bellamy. If Blake thinks Monty forced Octavia to do something, he would be screwed. The older Blake doesn’t scare me, though; not many things do.

The bracelet is pried off, only to reveal it automatically died. If we can’t get them off without killing it, how the hell do we turn it into a radio? Even if we did get it off without it repeatedly dying, turning it into a radio would be extremely difficult. The closest thing we could get would be Morse Code. Frustration quickly washes over me and I stand up, beginning to pace.

“This is fucking stupid! I should be out there helping Jasper! Not locked up here trying to communicate through the wristbands; that’s not even going to work! It’s not like I have anyone on the Ark that cares about me,” I rant. My fist collides with the nearest thing to me, which just happens to be a wall. Thankfully, nothing breaks, although the two others look taken aback as they stare at the blood dripping off my knuckles.

The hatch opens once again, with Atom’s head popping up. Octavia leaves, saying that she isn’t much help anymore. I feel like she may be slightly scared that I almost broke my hand, just because I was slightly frustrated. A yawn passes my lips, and I can feel my eyes begin to droop.
