"Blade! Blade, get the fuck up!"

One day. Just one day, I'd like to wake up on my own. Why am I always the one getting up? It's not like I'm that important to this group. But I swear to god, the next person who wakes me is getting a whooping.

"Octavia's missing."

That gets me up pretty quick. I sit up slightly so I'm leaning on my good elbow. I adjust the sling on my arm so it's more comfortable. Bellamy crouches down beside my makeshift bed. Monty and Jasper are up and around somewhere outside.

"What?" I rub at my eyes. Octavia is my best friend, at least I like to think she is. Either way, I won't let anything happen to her.

"I haven't seen her since last night." Bellamy has a really broken look on his face. It's his sister. Bellamy loves Octavia more than anything, even I can see that. Emotions aren't really my thing. I'm more of a machine kind of person. Something with a definite answer rather than multiple possibilities.

"Alright, give me two minutes. I'll be at the gate." I grab my jacket, and as soon as I swing it over my shoulder, I groan in pain. My left side throbs.

"Actually, never mind. Stay here with Raven. We'll be okay," Bellamy decides.

"Like hell I'm not!" I shout. "Octavia is my best friend. Besides, you don't know what even happened to her. You need all the help you can get, Blake. If this is about my shoulder, I'm f-" Bellamy pushes my shoulder back, even if it's only a little it hurts like a bitch. "Ow! What the hell, Blake?"

"Fine, huh? Look Sunshine, we don't need you slowing us down," Bellamy argued. I look up at him through my bangs that hang down into my eyes. I'm going to have to start to pin them back.

"Look, Blake. I'm not going to lay here on my ass all day and do nothing!" I conclude, raising my voice. I keep missing out on leaving the camp. First with finding Jasper, then with the seaweed. It's really starting to piss me off. People can't tell me what to do!

"Yes, you will!" Bellamy's voice matches mine. "We'll get her back. I promise." He rests a hand on my shoulder. His dark brown eyes look into mine. I break contact after a few seconds, and look down to our feet. My black combat boots are covered in mud, just as Bellamy's are. I let out a large sigh and nod my head. Bellamy gives a single pat on my shoulder and hesitates before leaving the tent. My eyes stay glued to the ground until I hear the shouts from outside.

Screw Blake.

I sneak out of the tent and blend in with the crowd. It's quite dark out, so I must have only got an hour of sleep. My head stays low. Just as well, I am at the back. Most people hold a torch, others have knives. I just keep my hand on my blade, the sleek black blade shines from the fire.

All of a sudden, lights - meteors fly down to earth. It looked beautiful, until I realized what they actually are.

"It didn't work..." I trail off, apparently louder than I thought. My voice catches Bellamy's attention.

"Blade, I told you: you're staying here. What are you rambling on about anyway?" he sighs. Concern crosses his face. Bellamy obviously wants to be out there looking for his sister, just as I want to.

"The flares! They didn't work!" I shout giving Bellamy a small shove. He doesn't go very far due to only having one arm pushing him.

"And a meteor shower tells you that?" He rubs his eye in frustration.

"It's not a meteor shower. It's a funeral." I shove past him, grabbing a weapon from the pile. "Let's move! Octavia could be in danger!"

The gate opens and we head out.
