"Come on, JJ. You can't stay locked in here forever," I beg. It's been over a week since Jasper has been walking around camp, but he's still hesitant to go outside. I can't blame him though: he's been through some pretty tough shit. Octavia and I stand on either side of him, encouraging him to continue.
"I know, Bee," Jasper sighs. I stick out my hand, which he gladly accepts. Jasper's hands are incredibly sweaty from nervousness, but if it makes him feel safer, then I don't mind.
Octavia pushes open the gate. "Look, we're already there. Just a few steps, okay? One foot in front of the other." Jasper and I take several steps. Octavia dances in front of us.
I look over at Jasper, seeing the incredibly anxious look on his face. He's pale, and his breathing is uneven. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask.
"Hmm," he acknowledges, snapping into attention. "Nothing, I'm good."
Octavia glances back. "Jasper, it's been a week," she deadpans. She continues on, and we follow.
"You got a second chance, JJ. You've gotta use it," I remind him. He nods, and ahead of us, Octavia lets out a scream.
We quickly glance up to see her being dragged behind a tree stump, most likely by a Grounder.
"Octavia?" Jasper feebly calls out. We take a few cautious steps toward where she disappeared.
"Octavia?" I try, my voice stronger than Jasper's.
A few seconds pass and there is still no response from her.
"O-Octavia!" he shouts, letting go of my hand and rushing to the stump. I quickly follow. "Octavia, are you okay?" As we see around the tree, the dumbass delinquent that grabbed her, burst out laughing.
"Hey!" Octavia pushes away from him. "Jerk! Get the hell out of here."
Jasper shakes his head. I can tell by the look on his face that he is very pissed off.
"Jasper, come on. There's nothing to be afraid of," Octavia comforts him, but I was mad.
"You sick son of a bitch." I push the guy down and swing out my left fist, since my right is still healing from the other day. It connects with his nose, and he groans in pain. Jasper tries to stop me, but I push him away, and he ends up falling to the ground. I pull my arm back to hit the guy again, but Jasper interrupts me.
"Blade!" Jasper calls out, still laying on the ground.
"What, JJ?" I sigh, diverting my attention. Jasper sticks his hand out and points to something. I follow his gaze: a knife and two fingers lay on the ground.
"Octavia!" She walks over towards me. I give Jasper a hand up, and push the two towards the gate. "Go get your brother and Clarke. Meet me in your tent."
Without drawing any attention to myself, I grab a cloth, and pick up the knife and fingers. As I arrive at the tent, no one is there. I remember sleeping in this tent, until Bellamy forced me to move. Octavia was right there so I decided not to make a fight, it was just easier to move in with Jasper and Monty, not that I minded.
Soon, the others arrive. "What's this about, Blade?" Bellamy began, whilst crossing his arms. I notice he always seems to stand like that. Maybe he thinks it makes him look tough.
I slam the knife down on the table. "That was found next to Wells' fingers."
Clarke gasps, picking up the knife and examining it. "That's made of metal from the dropship. Who else knows about this?"
"No one. We brought it straight here. What does this mean?" I ask, kind of rhetorically.
"The Grounders didn't kill Wells; one of us did." Clarke answers anyway. This isn't really helping my case. Clarke already thinks it was me who killed him; this just helps prove her point. I chew on my bottom lip in panic.
